I like it, just not for me

Blind bought this. Not a love at first smell unfortunately. But I'm going to let it macerate for a couple weeks/months and give an update.
As of now it doesn't smell like Babycat.

Update: Okay, it's started to smell like Babycat. Both this and Babycat isn't that great on skin. I like them more on paper. Definitely a unique strong scent. Just not for me.

I went into purchasing Rifaqaat with the mindset of not being able to smell BabyCat because it was impossible to smell in person(It was unavailable in stores everywhere). With anything I deep dived and saw people's reviews on what they liked/ didn't and also which clone is the closest to BabyCat. I was so hyped when it came and I knew to expect that gasoline/burnt smell but man it was strong lol but also knew I had give it some time to settle. This scent is so addictive and has become my daily, I don't smell the gasoline anymore and I've come to appreciate the opening, the dry down is so yum. I will be wearing this all year regardless of season.

Spicy molten vanilla

First off, I don't know Babycat (I'm sure it's lovely). I just like this one on its own merit, which is dry spices on top of a deep golden vanilla, that's almost sweet but not too much. It teeters there, at the cusp of syrupy and flowing. So, I just spritz a tiny bit on my wrists, otherwise it's suffocating--as in, the juice is strong.
I just wanted a basic vanilla, no frills, no floral, and not too sweet, and this does the job. Unisex, and perfect for fall.
As always, it's a middle eastern house, so if it's weak or smells of burnt rubber when you first get it, just let it sit and it will sort itself out in a few weeks/months. I got the 15ml tube for just 6euros, and man, it is good. Definitely worth that.

Quite ok but...

I have had this fragrance in my collection for a very long time. I let it mature for about half a year to see if anything else changes in the fragrance.

So let's start with the review. When I heard back then that it was based on "Le Vestiaire - Babycat | Yves Saint Laurent", I had to buy it. The price is comparatively hard to beat and I have heard from several sources that it comes close to its role model.

First to the positives. I would classify it as a heavy, multi-layered fragrance. Spicy saffron and heavy vanilla dominate. A certain smokiness is also clearly perceptible. I think I can also detect light tobacco notes, but these are not listed in the pyramid. I don't necessarily smell leather. The H|S are very good and with 8h and 1/2 meter projection it is potent. P|L is also very good and the bottle and sprayer are very high quality. I would rather wear it on cooler days and it is definitely unisex.

Now to the negative, where I can really only find fault with one thing. Over all the beautiful fragrance notes, there is an intrusive, rather unpleasant smell that is somewhat reminiscent of plastic. I think I have also found out what it is. It must be the elemi resin, which unfortunately doesn't change the fragrance image to my advantage. That's why I deducted 1.5 stars, otherwise it would be an 8 for me. I did a little research and apparently I'm not the only one who perceives it this way. Apparently people have different perceptions of this.

Conclusion: Don't let my negative point put you off. Try it out for yourself, as it is consistently well received. My wife, for example, really likes it too.

Blind buy...because of the similarity to Babycat...the beginning is a bit synthetic..you have to hang in there ..Aaaber then. Oh how beautiful ..my friend said " did you eat chocolate?!"...I personally didn't smell chocolate...but spicy vanilla...a little smoky..then it becomes warm and absolutely intoxicating..leather is only delicately perceptible..so pleasing and pleasant..I am really enraptured by the fragrance..and find it absolutely extraordinary..the durability is at least 8 hours for me...a bargain for the price..I already love it...great compliment candidate
