Beautiful light summer scent ...
The products from Acqua del Garda have unfortunately received almost no attention here in the forum, which surprises me a bit, as the range is quite versatile, the prices are in the humane to affordable range, and the fragrances can easily be ordered from the homepage, sometimes even with free shipping.
In my last order, I took a blind buy risk after I liked Zenzero e Vetiver so much, and with 30ml, you’re not sticking your neck out too far. The fragrance pyramid of Verde Acqua is mostly to my liking except for the peach, so it was "no risk no fun".
I first sniffed on the paper tester, and yes, light, summery, thankfully no headache flowers (lily of the valley can do that par excellence). It doesn’t disqualify itself in the preliminary round... on to step 2: Arm!
Yes, and then there’s unfortunately something like skin chemistry, which in this specific case throws a wrench in my plans. I must point out at this point that I am aware of this "problem," one of the reasons for my aversion to vanilla/tonka. On MY skin, only a sweet stickiness of the top notes remains; the heart/base do not exist. Sillage is not abundant, but for a summer EdT, it’s okay. I have to pass on the longevity because I wasn’t masochistic enough for the test.
Buuut I’m not giving up that easily - I hijacked the husband, and the woods come through on him! Ha! A certain sweetness remains here too, and he’s not really a flower fan, which I can understand, which is why this bottle will be moving on.
So, conclusion: it depends! Quite a beautiful light summer scent, but it has to "fit." I wouldn’t label Verde Acqua as a typical green scent, unless you understand it as the blooming shore of Lake Garda.
