The Strong Italian

ADP was one of the first houses, away from the designer mainstream, that caught my attention years ago... I was with friends in Las Vegas and my room neighbor wore the same fragrance every day, which I noticed very positively throughout the trip - I inevitably asked him: "What perfume are you wearing?"... his answer was short and to the point..."I only have one scent and that is Acqua di Parma - I wear it daily".... which one exactly, he didn't tell me and I didn't question it back then, but I kept going to perfume shops and tested many from the line and also received samples.

I must say - I absolutely love this ADP DNA - this citrus freshness that is simply incomparable in almost all of the good ADPs... what I don't love or loved is the unbelievably poor performance! For the prices, it's kind of a cheekiness... I find good longevity and sillage in fragrances almost as important as the scent itself... I've already given away countless incredibly good fragrances due to poor performance (The One, D&G pour Homme, LNDL, and many more.)
I really wanted to own an ADP and bought the Sandalo about 2 months ago - great scent. This citrus freshness paired with woods - wonderfully beautiful fragrance but again, the longevity was unfortunately not good and I gave the scent away...

I was about to give up on ADP and happened to smell the ADP Oud on a test strip at Breuninger. On the same day at Breuninger, I also tested the Xerjoff Naxos and the Accento - some serious competition for the ADP :-)
In the end, I had to admit that the ADP Oud impressed me the most of all three. It could keep up with the performance (only the Naxos was even more intense), but it captivated me the most with the scent DNA of all three!!

It is masculine, strong, and still has that incomparable ADP DNA within it... fresh and heavy at the same time somehow - perfect balance - whether it's warm or cold outside, it always fits! The oud note is super pleasant and not at all stinky... I had to get a bottle and I don't regret it to this day!
It performs well on me and with me! Not very very well - it's not a beast - but it is extremely solid and I can perceive the scent on me all day. At some point, it even smells like fresh laundry on me :-)

Finally, Acqua di Parma has managed to bring a fragrance to the market that performs... almost all of theirs smell good!
