Spring breeze on the Mediterranean
This fragrance was an addition when buying a new bottle. Once again one that should smell fruity-floral, I thought to myself. Boring! Aren't there enough of these petty, often annoying fruity-florals by now? Well, Borgo showed me very quickly that it's pretty damn different and doesn't deserve that classification at all.

It starts with hesperides at first, but the florals aren't long in coming. We have a dominant jasmine note and ylang-ylang doesn't hide either. In combination with the citrus notes and the cherry, which for me, however, smells much more like a cherry blossom, the whole thing reminds me of a warm spring breeze on the Mediterranean. Borgo is a floral scent as it lives and breathes, yet so delicate and so elegant that it could almost be a classic, perhaps by Guerlain or even Chanel. Nevertheless, this fragrance is modern and wonderfully timeless. The one can wear with 20 just as with 80 and he is just delicate, feminine, soft and beautiful.
The flowers, especially the jasmine note, hold up to the woody-ambered base. Patchouli is almost hiding here. I can barely make it out. The finish seems wonderfully authentic Italian and yet so natural.

Funnily enough, Borgo always made me think of my mother. Did she have such a fragrance? Consciously, I don't remember, but it may be that this scent reminds me of one of her many bath products or creams she used when I was a kid. It could well have a few years under its belt, the way it's conceived.

A flattering, elegant Italian this is. A little holiday on the Mediterranean to spray on. However, at all times upbeat and casual and in no way madamig. Who likes fragrances like Chanel's Paris Riviera or Guerlain's Champs-Elysees, could also find pleasure in this.
