A Brief Dream of a Detour into the Forest
So many scents have found their way to me! For several weeks now, "Oud Ambre" by "Adopt" has been sitting in my sorting box, waiting for a comment. I had briefly glanced at the page after a collection of samples arrived and saw that nothing had been written about it yet. Two users are interested in it, at least.
I applied it several times and quickly forgot about it each time because the sillage and longevity are, in a way, not worth mentioning.
Thirty minutes ago, I applied it again, and I had to reapply to ensure I could write something about it conscientiously.
"Oud Ambre" is, even if only for a short time, a beautiful bright woody scent, delicately spiced, slightly smoky, and somewhat balsamic. In fact, after a while, a note emerges that makes the already light scent feel fresher before "Oud Ambre" collapses in on itself. That's all I can say about the scent itself.
It's a pleasant fragrance. However, I found the sharp alcohol smell at the start of the reapplication unpleasant. Nevertheless, the reapplication has caused the very fine and pleasant scent to linger on my skin for almost an hour now, wafting around me in a gentle woody, smoky manner.
To fairly evaluate "Oud Ambre," I went to "buy" here. The scent is available on the bay, 30 ml, quite reasonably priced, I thought.
Still puzzled, I read again what is written above: "Produced by Reserve Naturelle." It sounds like it could be an eco-fragrance. So I went to the website, and I was very surprised there. The fragrances, mostly 30ml bottles, are about half the price of those on the bay. They are incredibly cheap. However, there is no mention of ecological or natural fragrance materials.
It is a French cosmetics company that has existed in France since 1986, a modern company that sells through franchising. Therefore, the fragrances are not so easily found in Germany.
For the scent "Oud Ambre," I found it described on the website as follows:
"A tropical and wild interpretation of Oud wood, punctuated with accents of freshness, in a sensual trail of Papyrus, Patchouli, and amber notes. The dream of an escape into the forest, concentrated in a bottle":
"A tropical and wild interpretation of agarwood (it is more fresh wood; I can only guess Oud) with a hint of freshness under a sensual trail of Papyrus (that is the fine, pleasant smoky note), Patchouli, and amber notes. The dream of an excursion/escape into the forest, concentrated in a bottle."
So "Oud Ambre" is indeed that, no more and no less.
And for such a small price, one can confidently take a blind purchase. "Oud Ambre" is quite a beautiful scent, as stated at the top of the pyramid. A unisex fragrance, of course.
However, a 100 ml bottle would be recommended for "Oud Ambre."
