Not Milady's finest moment...
...but still better than some others that sell better.
I am a fan of Vivienne Westwood. In my eyes, she does nothing wrong, and I have been following her work since the 80s. However, her first fragrance is not my favorite; that title goes to Anglomania: in my opinion, a stroke of genius. The Boudoir available today is not identical to the one from the 90s, and I have not yet encountered Mon Boudoir. Libertine also didn't quite fit in the lineup, and it disappeared before I could get to know it, but the other fragrances marketed under her name have always been decent. They also stood out a bit from the usual mainstream, which I found very commendable and bold.
Flirty is the third fragrance of the Alice trilogy, and unfortunately, not the best. Although it is, as mentioned at the beginning, good and unusual, it is not a candidate for purchase for me. (Thanks to Parfuma for the generous sample!)
The opening is very zesty-summery. You can indeed call it Flirty, sweet, pink grapefruit, juicy freshness - unfortunately, it comes across as somewhat synthetic. After a transition period during which I don't warm up to the fragrance, the sugary citrus note disappears and I begin to like the scent.
The Anglomania connection sets in; almost like a Westwood-Guerlinade, a theme runs through several of her fragrances that I really like. Unfortunately, I can't quite put this special quality into words, but it is a fresh-spicy powdery note, neither too sweet nor too floral. Just right. A slight hint of violet, which also gives this fragrance a somewhat quirky-English touch, but I like that too!
The similarity to Cheeky is greater than to Naughty, but if the three were siblings, Flirty would not be the prettiest. I would crown Naughty.
