In the Golden Afternoon

Fortunately, I am not familiar with Viva La Juicy people tend to compare this with, so I can enjoy the scent free of prejudice.
This is a fruity-floral in the best way possible, bright, upbeat and smoothly executed. The initial stage may give off a brief hairspray note but in a few minutes everything blends into a lovely effortless creaminess.
Honeysuckle and Jasmin do a lovely dance with Gardenia with occasional whiffs of Jasmine. It reminds me of the pretty, colourful and somewhat frivolous flowers from ‘Alice in Wonderland’ singing their Golden Afternoon song:

You can learn a lot of things from the flowers
For especially in the month of June
There's a wealth of happiness and romance
All in the golden afternoon

The base is ambery, with a syrupy touch if caramel. There is nothing complicated about this scent, no sharpness, no edgy notes and not much interplay in the development. It won’t make you ponder or challenge you. It is just a feel-good perfume and it is great at doing just that. Enjoy!

A Sweet Shade of Pink

The latest release of Casamorati focuses on “the tradition of GRAN BALLO or Debs’ Ball, was born in 1700 when in the noble palaces of the period, in a shining of lights, mirrors and golden stuccoes, young aristocratic girls had the opportunity of finding their own “Prince Charming”. It was clear that I was expecting a romantic floral perfume for young innocent girls, a perfume that should make me dream. How is in fact Gran Ballo? The pink bottle warns you right from the start – this is Barbie Girl’s perfume for her first prom.

Gran Ballo begins with a fruity caramel vanilla dance then floral notes join the quadrille having the same overdosed caramel vanilla partner and all the party ends on an amber base drenched in the same caramel vanilla sauce. It is a very sweet perfume highly recommended for those having a “sweet tooth”, those that do not enjoy sweet gourmand perfumes please stay away. Good longevity on skin with average silage.

Don't let the color of the bottle fool you...

Not at all sweet, I expected a sweet fragrance but vanilla and caramel here aren't exactly gourmand/edible.

Lush, floral, feminine and elegant. In dry down, almost identical as Astratto (Bois 1920) - delightful, aethereal, airy. Remarkable similarity between the two, Astratto being more fruity-sweet and lactonic. Longevity nuclear, can smell it on my skin the day after.

I see many comment the color of the bottle... Just like Lira olfactory perfectly accompanies the color of the bottle, Gran Ballo doesn't. It's much serious and mature than that pink. XD

Sweet, Fruity Women

Yes, from my title you can already tell that this fragrance from Xerjoff is aimed at women, and it primarily smells sweet and fruity.
Or one might think that women are sweet and fruity... whatever that is supposed to mean. I can't come up with a better introduction right now, maybe it's because I'm still hungry but don't want to make a second sandwich, as I would inevitably attract the cat with it again. With the first sandwich, he already got the meaty filling, and all that was left for me was the cheese... which he would have eaten too if I had given it to him... and for me, there would have only been bread with butter left...

Anyway, let's get to the fragrance.

The fragrance:
It starts citrusy and fruity-sweet at the same time. The mandarin peel drives away the cat creatures and smells slightly bitter. Then come the sweet berries, which smell very delicious but somehow also leave a slightly synthetic impression, which isn't too bad here.
The sweet notes seem very familiar to me, a glance at the fragrance pyramid confirms that this is the Jasmine Sambac, which is also used in the wonderful Alien fragrances, for example. Here, this note also smells very nice and very feminine.
Just a few minutes after spraying, the bitter mandarin peel becomes fainter and ultimately disappears completely, while the sweet scents become stronger and together with the berry fruits create a wonderful fragrance that also smells a bit girly.
Later in the base, the berry fruits are caramelized and continue to smell great, while a woody note forms the base in the background. I couldn't perceive the vanilla very strongly, but the amber ensures that the sweet notes now smell less girly. Towards the end, the fragrance still smells fruity sweet with a hint of caramel.

Longevity and sillage:
The longevity is above average at about six to eight hours, which I find acceptable.
The sillage, on the other hand, is quite good for several hours; the sweet notes radiate well, and you don't have to get too close to someone to notice the fragrance on them. This naturally leaves a decent scent trail.

The bottle:
The pink bottle rises trapezoidally upwards and somewhat resembles Ionic columns on the sides. The golden cap tapers to a point at the top (and with a bit of mischievous imagination, one might think the cap looks like a toilet bowl). On the front, there is an image that seems to have a Victorian touch, as well as the name of the fragrance and the logo. A great, handcrafted bottle.

Gran Ballo is quite nicely done. Even though it reminded me a bit of girly fragrances, especially in the middle part, that impression fades a bit later.

Basically, it is a fragrance that can be worn at any time and for all occasions. Due to its sweetness, it is well-suited for going out and makes the ladies who wear it particularly sweet :D
Although it is so sweet, it is not heavy, so I would recommend the fragrance for spring and summer. Unfortunately, the fragrance loses some of its projection after about three to four hours and drifts a little into the realm of inconsequential fragrances. A pity, but not necessarily a reason to dismiss the fragrance immediately.

So, you can definitely give it a try, as the first hours might be enjoyable. But: At that price, one would certainly expect much, much more.

My Debutante Ball

This comment only reflects my impression, a lot has already been written anyway.
Here I summarize it as a newcomer: Everyone is right!
Too floral, too penetrating, too intense - too flat, too trivial - floral - piercing - too little sweetness, too much sweetness.
I have experienced this with my previous scent samples from this brand as well.
The fragrance pyramid simply isn't there on my skin, it remains too faint, it takes a strange turn into an unpleasant olfactory area.
So, personal testing is the only option.
With this scent, even under stricter conditions. Because floral scents that are also labeled "fruity" I have avoided for years.
But in this community, it's all about expanding horizons.
There are samples where I take off the cap, sniff briefly, and put it back on, at best giving it a second chance on a test strip.
Since I started participating here a month ago, I have tested many samples.
It's quite simple. It's a mix of everything. The hype around the brand (I'm not completely immune to it) The reference to quality, I agree with.

To start, I am inclined to say, this can go, it's just another floral bouquet, who knows what awaits you in the dry down, not again stale flower water, hairspray.....
No, it gets better, I can also appreciate the fruity aspect on myself.
I like it. The bottle will stay. I have found a floral scent for myself.
That works pleasantly on my skin throughout the entire duration.
A finely woven mixture of flowers, sweetness, and an amber base.

The longer I write here and sniff at my wrist, the more imagery creeps in.
Conclusion
The first step has been taken. And if more wearable floral scents come along that I can get excited about, and that aren't too expensive, then I'm happy to be on board :-)
