Lemon angel cake bottled as a perfume
I have to admit I was quite hyped to get a sample of this one from Etiket. Who doesn't know Lira, the luscious lemon cake fragrance lauded by everyone on social media, hyped by many influencers? It was probably one of the first perfume I stumbled upon when I first started this hobby and it's been on my list ever since.
After a sudden blast of citrus fruits, I'm immediately greeted by this soft, airy lemon angel cake. I've never smelled a more photorealistic dessert scent than this one (my references up until then were mainstream and designer perfumes, so please bear with me). I could feel my mouth salivating at the thought of biting into a slightly sweet, slightly tangy lemon cake. It's just amazing what scent can do to you. Lavender gives it this airy, light feel, while the citrus blend together harmoniously well. Cinnamon lends a nice spicy note to the batter of the cake, while liquorice adds this creamy, vanilla-like consistency. Jasmine gives a subtle, but lovely powdery aspect to it all. After awhile, the base notes mingle with the rest and give off this comforting, almost warm cake feeling. It's truly a thing of beauty and I can't stop sniffing my wrist and marveling at it all.
I've asked myself several times if I'd wear it and to be honest, I find it a tad too sweet and powdery, but it's such a unique perfume, well-blended and crafted with gourmands in mind that I can't help but to score it this high. I'm sure the performance is even better during colder weather for comfort.
