MyQueen Alexander McQueen 2005

There is something about the colour purple. To me, at least. When I was a kid I would have loved everything in the world to be a shade of purple. A lot of my classmates loved pink - I adored purple. My room was in all shades of the colour. My walls were light lilac, my bed carpet dark violet and my curtains the darkest plum. My home knit leg warmers were purple and orange and lots of my clothes were different shades of purple. I once had a purple toothbrush.
I love Lalique Amerhyst, Dior Poison, YSL Manifesto L’Elixir and Estée Lauder Sensuous Noir, for the great smell as well as the beautiful purple bottles. It is the same with My Queen. The perfume is a skillfully composed fragrance, starting with the wonderful violets, combined with the orange blossoms, and then the patchouli/vanilla base. Unfortunately, on my skin both longevity and sillage is poor. I love the juice anyway.
Apart from being a great McQueen fragrance, perhaps the best of his, it comes in the most adorable bottle. The colour is just wonderful. The shape reminds me of a reversed tulip head. Together with the smell it makes a really good perfume.
Oh… I forgot to mention that one of my favourite tracks from 1984 is Purple Rain…
