Licorice, what more could you ask for?

Today, after Dark Pleasure, I dare to try the next fragrance from my Alexandria package. I got these from an acquaintance and wanted to immerse myself a little more in the world of niche fragrances, after having worked with the usual designers last year.

I am pleased that I am the first to write a comment on this fragrance. Also a premiere for me!

So now to the scent: With the first splash on the arm I take an unpleasant alcohol note, which disappears in seconds. Maybe it is because I spray too slowly - or because I am too curious about the fragrance. These Alexandria sprayers squeeze relatively hard and then immediately release a good shot of perfume.

At the beginning it becomes briefly fruity fresh and then also a little sweet, whereby I do not recognize any note directly. Soon after, Rose appears, and I am afraid that I have already applied another fragrance for women. Fortunately (for me) green and woody notes then join in. Sandalwood and musk, which will later dominate the fragrance composition, let the rose discreetly recede into the background. And that's a good thing, because I think that Rose often takes a very feminine direction and can be used oversized in unisex classified fragrances for men. In combination with the more woody notes, one is immersed over time in a sea of "liquorice". If one were to assign a fragrance to the term "liquorice grating" in the figurative sense, I would probably choose this one. I can't see the often dominant vanilla in this perfume, although in combination with others it could be the sweet component.

I love the way the scent changes over time. However, the fragrance certainly lives up to the name "Valley of the Kings". I have the impression that Alexandria has created or copied something great there. Since I don't know the "original" Richwood, I can't make a direct comparison. The scent is great and knows to inspire, but is certainly not for me in everyday life. The performance is decent, even (now), after seven hours, I can still perceive the scent clearly on the back of my hand. Although the perfume is labeled as masculine, I can imagine it on a woman because of the sweetness.
