A grassy cupcake
Despite the chocolatey, syrupy, toffee...y countenance, the perfume inside smells much different. I smelled dewy lemongrass with a patchouli drydown. No sweets, no florals. I was expecting something similar to Sarah Jessica Parker's Covet--a sweet chocolate grassy floral. Longevity is 2 hours at most on me.

Fresh Floral Scent in the Wrong Attire
What a funny jumble. First lilac, then rose. Just as the fragrance was about to mutate into fabric softener, caramel comes around the corner. Can the cupcake still become a gourmand? Ozone notes flash up repeatedly, completely preventing that. Rather fresh than sweet, this little tart presents itself. Gustatorily, it's actually a sin, but olfactorily, patchouli appears here. Since I'm not a big patch fan, I view this with some suspicion. Because it's not even the chocolatey version, but rather the earthy one. So, in terms of the bottle design, they've really hit the trash. Not only is it visually a disaster, but it also raises completely false expectations. Gourmand girls like me are disappointed, and the fresh floral enthusiasts among us might be missing out on an opportunity.

Those who like caramel must take the rest too
Some time ago, I ordered a sample of Showy Toffee from ALzD, simply because I wanted to know what kind of scent might be hiding behind such a somewhat childishly sweet bottle. Of course, I expected a gourmand sweetness, but I hoped that it wouldn’t be all there is.

The opening presents itself as caramel-sweet; I directly skipped the top notes mentioned in the pyramid: nothing, absolutely nothing unsweet-grassy and certainly nothing citrus-fresh wants to show itself, but the development goes straight to the core. After a short while, it’s not floral accords that join in, but a dark chocolate with a subtly smoky patchouli note; I also smell something delicately woody, even though no wood seems to be present. I find the combination of gourmand-sweet and dark-smoky surprisingly good; I don’t miss the flowers.

Contrary to my expectations, the longevity is only moderate, and the scent is really close to the skin. Now, after about 6 hours, I can still perceive a subtle vanilla scent very close to my wrist, but nothing more.

Conclusion: There’s quite a bit happening, even surprising things, but the dry down is rather meager for me.

AND: If THIS is considered unisex, then I don’t know...

The only A&P without comment...
... that has to change :).

Unfortunately, I can't appreciate this scent as much as the other A&Ps.

It is sweet, caramel-like, and also a bit chocolatey. Exactly what the name suggests. I can't (thankfully) perceive lilac and rose at all, nor grass or lemon. The sweet (chocolate) note is more pronounced and natural than, for example, Thomas Sabo "Charm Kiss" and Escada "Desire Me".
A pleasant, quite warm scent, but I probably wouldn't want to smell it for a long time.

More of a scent for in-between and the colder days. I think in heat, the sweetness wouldn't fit so well.

I only tested it briefly on my arm, but I don't smell as much anymore as I did a few minutes ago. So, it seems that the longevity is limited.

- EDIT - Addendum: after about 1 1/2 hours, the intense sweetness is softened by a spicy note, I assume musk.

The candy stand at the fair smells so tempting. Jelly bananas and colorful candies entice. Plus, there are Christmas-spiced treats.

Toffee?? Gourmand?? Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. It resembles the Eau de Toilette "Ma Dame" by Gaultier a lot. Powdery-fresh;
