Gardenia floral
Fairy dust is a beautiful gardenia scent. I'm not crazy about peony (impresses me as synthetic or cheap) but I tolerate it in many fragrances because it mixes well with other florals. Peony is not overdone in this one. I really can't pick out the orange blossom. If I had to guess I would think jasmine is in here somewhere but it isn't listed in the notes. The peach lends sweetness without being singled out and the base of vanilla, patchouli, and musk gives it the soft powdery dry down that makes me like this so much. Some people have noticed a dirty or dusty smell and I'm sure this is coming from the patchouli/musk combination as I am picking up on that ever so slightly but not in significant amount. To me this is her best fragrance that I have tried so far. Now I am picking up the vanilla after 20 minutes. I really like this one.

Rather insipid
Ridiculous name I must say. One would think Paris Hilton was a role-model for young girls. I think not! Despite the advert being aimed at the younger sector of the market, Fairy Dust could quite possibly be worn by people of all ages. I do think it smells like Juicy Couture, which is a damn shame.

I find Fairy Dust a watered-down white floral with a fruity and sweet peach note. The overall blend is not terrible, but I find it bland and insipid. In fact the scent is quite generic.

The peach note is sometimes pleasantly fizzy and blends well with the gardenia and orange blossom, but most of the time I don't even notice the scent. It has a habit of falling under the radar. I expected this fragrance to drydown to something clean and soapy, however all it did was turn musky on my skin.

Paris Hilton and her army of fragrances aren't for me. I'm not terribly impressed with any of them, with Can Can being the only scent I found mildly reasonable. I would still fork-out the money for the original Juicy Couture over and above the cheaper Fairy Dust.

Absolute Surprise, Ms. Hilton!
Paris Hilton: I don’t like her and I will never like her! Celebrity fragrances: They all smell almost the same...

... I thought, when I held a sample of Fairy Dust in my hands (thanks to Irielle) and placed the vial unnoticed in my bathroom cabinet!

A few days later....

I, in the mood to test, actually wanted to try another fragrance, but I grabbed the wrong one and sprayed Fairy Dust on my wrist! WOW!

An intensely sweet scent rushed towards me, at first it smelled incredibly like coconut! According to the fragrance pyramid it’s not included, but my nose says: definitely coconut (I could be wrong!?)

After a short time, the scent transformed into a floral, enchanting heaviness. The lotus flower comes to the forefront!

Like fairy dust, the fragrance enveloped and enchanted me, beautifully rounded off with musk, vanilla, and patchouli in the base.

Incredible! Unbelievable! I did not expect that! A truly wonderful fragrance and the longevity is also very good!

Fortunately, I allowed myself to be enchanted by the fairy and didn’t let the vial gather dust unnoticed in the cabinet!

Respect, Ms. Hilton! I will definitely buy this fragrance soon!

XOXO, Mona

Fairy Dust from the Fairy Queen....
I exchanged the scent for Schokololly blind, and I am absolutely thrilled.
After studying the fragrance pyramids for a while, I think I can now explain what I find so wonderful about it.
I seem to generally have a preference for scents with a hint of gardenia (Magnetic, Dali Wild, Rush, Very Hollywood).
I actually don't like pure gardenia, but the skillful composition with other (the right) ingredients radiates something so irresistible for me that I can't quite express it in words.
It is fresh without being citrusy, it is floral-light, perhaps a touch aquatic, and at the same time has an enchanting warmth that carries a hint of sweetness without coming across like cotton candy dipped in fruit syrup....just genius.
If fairies smell, then certainly just like this!
It's a shame that you can hardly find it anywhere anymore.

Addendum on April 21, 2024

I need to somewhat relativize my impressions and assessments of the scent.

Now I perceive it as very classic. An elegant white floral scent (with a very dominant gardenia) that probably won't resonate much with young ladies today. The composition could be from the 80s or 90s. I like that; after all, it was my childhood.
The bottle is, considering that the scent actually targets a different audience, a complete marketing failure.

Men still like the scent despite the lack of (currently trendy) sweetness. I've been asked several times what smells so good....

Elegant white floral scent…. Name, marketing, and design completely missed the mark, if it were promoted differently, it would surely find its admirers.

An amazingly beautiful garden scent, delicate, floral, and fresh with a finely balanced soft musk-vanilla base, hats off to you, Mrs. Hilton!

Surprisingly a very beautiful scent.
Gardenias dominate, but remain soft and light.
Sweet, fluffy, charming, innocent.
