Soapy aldehydes, soft florals, and musky woods - in that order
Was feeling spontaneous today and blind bought this off a lovely girl from Facebook Marketplace. I currently only have 2 Amouage scents in my collection, and those are Guidance Eau de Parfum and Guidance 46. Before purchasing, I took a quick look at the notes and read some reviews, which made me feel more confident in my purchase.
I’ve tried quite a few from this house, and this by far is probably one of the more safe scents they have to offer. If you like clean and fresh florals, you will easily like this. Dia is modern, feminine bouquet with a vintage guise. From first spray, you get a very intense soapy smell that really gives the “I just stepped out the shower” kind of vibe. But as the scent begins to dry down, those flowers kind of shyly push forward, but en masse. They all kind of dance around each other, with the iris giving a powder prominence. As someone who doesn’t love powdery scents, I was shocked by how much I enjoy the powder here. And in the late dry down, the sandalwood and cedar reveal themselves with a soft, creamy musk the grounds everything. It’s so so gorgeous.
I do understand that this scent may not appeal to everyone, especially if you don’t like soapy scents or vintage-esque fragrances. But it is one of the “easier” scents Amouage has to offer and the performance is spectacular (as always!!!). Needless to say, this was a successful blind buy and I’m happy to have her.
