Encouragement

My first Amouage, probably also my best friend among the fragrances of this house. It's not love, there's no cuddling here. But we get on well, at least I think I understand it well in its complexity and its history.

To break it down to "woody-spicy oud-leather fragrance" would not do it justice. At least in its conception, it is based on the Silk Road and the spices that were historically traded on it. In its dark green presentation, it is surrounded by the atmosphere of a coniferous forest, but it is more than that.

Epic poetry, in addition to its often staggering length, is known for illuminating the playout of complex and significant conflicts, often involving divine actors (see, for example, the Iliad or the Mahabharata).

Epic is not as much a homage to "conflict and resolution" as Interlude, for example. Nor does he come with a white flag flying. Rather, he is someone who encourages you to deal with necessary conflicts - be it with yourself or with others. As for the aforementioned complexity: even after wearing it many times, new facets can be discovered. And it remains loyal until you wash it off.

I don't wear it every day, it's too special and too sophisticated for that. Nevertheless (or perhaps because of this), it has managed to find a permanent home with me. It's no longer in my collection. An absolute recommendation for anyone who wants to venture into more complex niche fragrances.
