Mouthwatering creamy almond
This is so delicious. I'm not the biggest fan of indie gourmands, many of them smell like mediocre scented candles to me or are too rough and unpolished, but I'm glad I sometimes try them anyways, so I can find gems like this. This is smooth and mouthwatering, nothing rough about it at all.
Amande opens up with a fruity and boozy accord. Amaretto without the overwhelming marzipan notes, fresh apricots and a hint of something that makes me think of an orange liqueur. The almond in this is quite bitter and has a poisonous touch that adds interest to the to the opening. One little un-edible thing that makes all the other gourmand notes exciting. Hazelnut is quite noticeable, too, in a lovely sweet and creamy, nougat-ish kind of way. The almond is stronger though.
In the drydown the scent gets creamier, vanilla and whipped cream take the center stage, and the honey slowly creeps in. It's a thick, opaque white honey that smells warm and slightly floral, and it never turns dirty on me like some honey scents do.
This is a slightly older review I originally wrote last year. At that point Parfumo had the following notes listed: Bitter orange, hazelnut, heliotrope, almond, musk, cream, sandalwood, vanilla. Maybe the notes were officially changed at some point. I was definitely able to sense hazelnut and something orangey here, too.
