Effortless musky peaches and beautiful florals
Marbella is THAT girl who's ready for warm temperatures and beach vibes. Her tote bag is ready, her swimming suit is trendy, she's got those big, black, designer sunglasses on and her hair has that beach style to it. At least that's what I thought of when I first smelled it.

Blackcurrant is tart and fruity. In part fruity sour, but also sweet. Bulgarian rose has that deep, fruity, sweet, and carnal vibe to it, slightly decadent, but never too strong or too loud. Pink pepper is faint, but gives everything this elevated, sophisticated and effortless aspect to the perfume. Peonies and jasmines are sweet and floral while green tea further elevates the fresh, almost aquatic aspect of the perfume. It doesn't take long before peaches rise up, accompanied by musks and amber. Peaches are fruity, juicy and slightly tangy with their distinct sweet and rounded flesh. Musks ground out this perfume, giving it a clean-girl vibe while amber brings out the warmth. The drydown reminded me of Peach Fields Eau de Parfum without the juvenile or woody aspect of the latter.

It's a beautiful perfume made for late-Spring and summer with a fair price. I got myself a full bottle of it after pondering on it for awhile. Might not be a permanent addition to my collection, but still a very fragrant and beautiful scent!

Journey to the Past, Arrival in the Present
So far, the brand is still quite unknown to me, as most fragrances from the house of Carner are only available on the website or in selected perfumeries.
The same goes for Marbella.

I have a connection to this through a childhood vacation in Marbella.
I can remember bullfights, the sea, sunshine, and whitewashed houses.
This fragrance is a wonderful association with my bright memories.

It is sweet, fresh, fruity, floral, and all of this on a subtly clean musk base.

I recognize the green tea with juicy peach.
Like one of those tea spritzer refreshment drinks, just with more fullness and less sugar.

The floral notes, especially the well-measured jasmine, work very harmoniously together with the fruits.
I think I could apply 10 sprays of this and it would never be perceived as overwhelming or too much.

It definitely suits the warmer seasons more.
Although, in winter in Marbella, I could also imagine it well.

The bottle, in this shimmering blue, definitely stands out on the perfume shelf.
I will give it a permanent place in my collection, as I haven't found anything comparable so far.

Definitely unisex, because the flowers are very well integrated.

A big compliment to the house of Carner from me.

Of Urban Prejudices and Elegant Freshness
I don't know much about the city of Marbella. But what I do know makes me suspect that I wouldn't feel very comfortable there due to the clientele.
And then this fragrance came along. If Carner Barcelona creates this scent in the name of the city, it must be beautiful. Marbella is, for me, a wonderful blend of lightness, freshness, and elegance.

At the opening: pure freshness. Almost aquatic. Musk is clearly recognizable - throughout the entire life cycle of the fragrance. Clean. Cool. A lightly sparkling pepper note with a transparent-watery (peony) rose adds elegance. Tension. The blackcurrant complements a fruity sweetness without becoming synthetic or reminiscent of syrup. It's hard to believe that no citrus fruit is involved here.
The flowers become somewhat more pronounced over time but remain fresh and transparent. For me, the tea seems to come through clearly. Bitter-green, without hay associations. I can only sense the peach, but it consistently provides a subtly fruity sweetness throughout.
The sillage is okay. It takes a few sprays. I can perceive the fragrance well for about 6 hours. I'm sure that in warmth, an extra hour can be squeezed out.

Marbella combines summery lightness, cool-fruity refreshment with approachable elegance. A special summer fragrance that can be wonderfully worn from day to evening. Unisex, leaning slightly feminine.

Maybe I should add the city of Marbella to my list after all. The fragrance has at least already secured a top spot.

Strolling on a Hot Sunday in the Narrow Streets of a Small Fishing Village
Somewhere in the Mediterranean.
The incredible companion that invites you to stroll through the narrow streets of a picture-book old town.
In the shade of the old houses, seeking protection from the blazing sun. Smelling and testing one or two small shops with handmade jewelry, handmade soaps, and olive oil, surrendering to the dreamy afternoon calm. The air is hot, a breeze barely felt, but there, there is a light peppery spice that immediately connects with a citrus-fresh note, and a light and fresh peach that makes this scent trail particularly special.

The Weight of a Day at the Sea
Somehow, the scent intrigued me because of its name; Marbella.
It immediately reminded me of the two-week trip to Andalusia in June 2022, the stops:
Malaga, Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba, Cadiz/Jerez, and of course, Marbella.
How grateful I was to finally be able to take a relatively normal vacation after the pandemic, after all, a precursor to long-distance travel.
Andalusia fascinated me greatly, so different and multifaceted was each city!
The city of Marbella reminded me a bit of Mykonos; the white Mediterranean architecture in the chic old town, the flower pots everywhere, the narrow streets full of shops and restaurants/tapas bars, the young women taking photos for social media.
The beach with its bustling promenade nearby, the Mediterranean Sea; fitting the color of the bottle.

The opening of the scent:
fresh-sweet-aquatic and yet very familiar; is this scent type already well-known from summer designer fragrances?
From hair care products?
[Corakirsch once told me that it reminded him of mousse, and I can confirm that; I also think a bit of a Saturday morning at the hair salon]
When the fleeting blackcurrant top note fades away (which happens very quickly), it becomes meditatively calm, without losing its slightly floral freshness; chilled tea with edible flowers floating in it and warm wind on the skin after a long day at the Mediterranean; quite a nice scent stage.
I see myself sitting on Marbella's beach as the sun gradually sets and the beach clubs empty.

However, one must be able to handle the musk note that accompanies the scent, as it is quite present.
And in this case, I can't quite...
Perhaps the musk, in combination with the fresh notes, also evokes the hair product association.
Possibly, the musk takes away the lightness that one knows, for example, from Delina La Rosée or fresher scents like Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic or "La Tulipe (Eau de Parfum) | Byredo," and makes it burdensome (potential headache candidate?) and over time, unfortunately, it reminds me a bit of masculine deodorant sprays, hair gel, etc.
This musk is not fluffy-soft, but for me, rough-masculine-chemical-heavy.

For me, it's more like a public pool than the glamorous Marbella.

Fresh, pleasant rose rounded off by tart tea notes. However, I find it too fruity in the Drydown (I'm not a fan of fruity scents).

It opens with a really juicy blackcurrant and then dries down to a fruity musk. Very realistic blackcurrant note. An amazing fragrance.

Starts as very strong and scratchy laundry musk, then settles down a bit into a fruity floral soap. Feels too synthetic to me.

A summery and aquatic-fresh blend of tea, berry-like rose (tart, fruity, and dark at the same time), a hint of jasmine, and °°°

I would have guessed more mainstream than Carner. Nice rose with a bit of aquatic, pleasant, linear, smells similar to many others.

Rose against an aquatic background, which just doesn't work for me. It comes off sharp and soapy. The peach adds to it.

For a summer scent, it's too thick and heavy for me. Cheeky apples, sweet-sour peach, warm-amber-vanilla.
