Not everything that glitters is gold (worth)!
To describe my first encounter with this fragrance, I need to elaborate a bit...
I am a real estate agent and a few years ago, I worked on projects with a now very good colleague. Our fathers had done business together before our time, and so we coincidentally came back together after respective company takeovers. He, about 10 years older than me, was already an established businessman, very well-off, and frequented the upscale hotels and restaurants of the world. Beautiful cars, expensive clothing, and a generally quite extravagant appearance were part of his good manners.
One day we had a site visit of a shell construction. It was being painted and sanded, and it smelled of concrete and paint. Suddenly, I was hit by a sporty-fresh, citrusy, almost sour scent, as if a plate of fresh grapefruits and limes was placed in front of me. From the very first moment, I was blown away by the sillage it left behind. Imagine an Aventus Creed, a LV Imagination, a Roja Isola Blu... I thought that’s how the Babor would perform in this price category.
As soon as I mentioned that this fragrance costs between €30 and €40, I ordered a bottle and tested it right away. And behold: Price does not always determine quality!
I love this scent and am convinced that you don’t always have to reach deep into your wallet to own high-quality fragrances. Of course, let’s not kid ourselves, there are points like durability where this fragrance falls short compared to the aforementioned ones. Nevertheless, I would always buy and recommend Babor - Men Vol. 1 again. A great entry-level fragrance for anyone who doesn’t want to shop beyond the €200 mark but still enjoys smelling good and has developed a taste for special scents!
