The wooden box fragrance

First time I smelled Jade was when I bought it. It looked so nice and different in its wooden box, and I got the feeling that this would be a luxurious fragrance. I knew I had to have such a fragrance in my collection. That was in 2008. When it arrived, I sprayed it and sniffed my wrist. Then sprayed and sniffed again. Nothing happened. I simply could not smell a thing. For a week I kept trying. Nothing happened. Finally I gave up. I put Jade in the closet and did not pay attention to it.
For many years it just stood there. Until my crazy, yet determined ‘365 reviews in 365 days’ journey made me look a bit further into the less used fragrances in my collection. What luck! Either my nose has changed or Jade has. The experience today is totally different.
To my nose, Jade is watery-fruity-sweet. Is has a greenness, comparable to Jesu del Pozo’s Duende. The same somewhat hard to catch note, that makes it quite unique. I like it. The longevity is amazing, being such a watery smell. It lasts more than 6 hours on my skin.
As mentioned, I did fall for the wrapping. It is a nice bottle and I like the rather big wooden box that comes with. I am however aware of the blessing that most perfumes come in cardboard boxes. Otherwise, I would have run out of space.
