BANG for your bucks
King of Seduction Absolute is a fresh marine with little but of a bubblegum aspect from Invictus, but it makes it manly.
Opening is very interesting. Citrusy, but slightly nutty and even I date to say, boozy. Grapefruit is mostly noticeable but if you search deeper, you will notice the almond and absinthe as well. It is a perfect balance between fresh and sweet citrus, no candy vibes but no screechy-grapefruit vibes such as fragrances like Dylan Blue or BDC.
Middle: This is where the Invictus resemblance and bubblegum note comes in. Aquatic and fresh, but also sweet and youthful. Cardamom is not detected by my nose, I expect it is more for “balancing”. Lavender is present and a bit synthetic, but no right to complain. Still smells great. Mixed with the remaining notes of the opening, the scent becomes a masculine sweet-freshie.
Base: Classic fougere base notes. They are not powerful but they are there. Tiny bit of leather is noticeable, but do not expect too much.
Performance: Being an aquatic and an EDT, it is not realistic to expect a crazy longevity (I do not know how much this thing got reformulated, maybe it was really beastly back in the day). Still, it is great. On clothes, lasts a full day but doesn’t projects much, On skin stays 4-7 hours (with 5-8 sprays) but it is noticeable to others during it’s lifetime. I’d give a 7 for longevity and 7.5 for sillage if I could.
Bottle: Cap feels a bit too small and awkward for the bottle, but color and atomiser is great. It’s not pressurized, but it sprays a decent amount of juice within every spray.
Price: I paid 20 bucks for this and it worths every single money I paid for.
Overall: If you are in search for Invictus bit want to save your bucks, this is the most masculine of all your options. Hawas and any other clone is too sweet compared to this.
