An economic gem

For my taste, without a doubt, one of the best perfumes of this house, along with "Spirit" and "Seduction in Black".

The beginning is insignificant, almost imperceptible for a moment, and you think it is a tease, but nothing is further from the truth, because, little by little, an aroma begins to emerge between citrus and spicy, with intensity in crescendo, very elegant , fresh and very herbaceous, an almost bitter fragrance, but of an exquisite resinous warmth, with a slightly floral, very masculine touch. Then, the woody notes take over the perfume, feeling a smoked wood, spicy and with a slight piece of vanilla, really nice, fine and elegant.

The performance of this perfume is very good for the segment in which it is framed, reaching to remain between 5 and 6 hours in skin, with a low moderate wake, which is not bad for the price at which it is.

Warm aroma of climates, rather, fresh or tempered, and preferably of nocturnal use, although, due to its low projection, it is a perfume that could be enjoyed in the cool mornings of winter or autumn perfectly.

Magnificent quality / price ratio.

P/L Sensation. Star of the Fragrance: Cardamom

Secret Temptation starts off directly with this greenish cardamom note playing with a certain spiciness and a bit of resinousness.

I even find that the vetiver is already noticeable at the beginning.
However, the main player for me is the greenish cardamom, and I am a fan of cardamom in fragrances.

Over time, the fragrance gains a bit of sweetness, which occurs relatively quickly for me.
This sweetness fits beautifully with the scent.

The performance of the fragrance is completely solid, and overall, for this price, the fragrance is an absolute recommendation.

One's Grail is Another's Torment

As I am currently in a phase of olfactory acquisition, I was tempted to make a blind purchase of this low-end fragrance, which an enthusiast raved about in an Anglophone fragrance forum, claiming it was basically a clone of Guerlain's L'Instant Extrême. This just shows how difficult it is for our culture, which is not deeply connected to scent, to articulate fragrances intersubjectively - for the people of Ongee, whose sensory regime and cosmology are dominated by olfaction, it would be much easier. I smell neither a secret nor a seduction here, but rather a conventional, almost modular assembly of cheap aroma chemicals in a budget-friendly dosage - which actually benefits the fragrance, as what would otherwise be a scent C-weapon attack comes across as tolerably thin - but unfortunately not really good. The perfume software (one should not imagine that such formulas are still designed by humans, as Mark Buxton already shared a few years ago at the Einstein Forum about scent) has mixed in sweet maltol notes, ambrox, and diffusion-contributing Iso-E-Super, so that there is not even a hint of classic Guerlain to be felt, but rather the olfactory average of the male share of a public transport ride during rush hour. The fragrance pyramid is almost touching in its simplicity. The consolation remains that there are also significantly more expensive fragrances that smell no more sophisticated or precious, and sometimes even fall behind the temporary secret in terms of construction. At least here, the coherence of price (about € 20), quality (drugstore mid-range), and ambition (wearable scent without luxury or individuality) is somewhat maintained. But of course, no one who truly loves perfume needs something like this.
