A Stop in a Small Café in the Twisted Old Town
I enter an old-fashioned café: sweet-scented abundance, infused with vanilla and toffee, greets me.
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee invites me to linger: no yuppie selection, but a strong, dark brew served with a glass of water.
A selection of small, appetizing delicacies, oriental-sweet, often with a hint of pink pepper and other spices, is brought unbidden to the round wooden table alongside the cup of coffee.
A sense of well-being spreads: my gaze wanders around relaxed.
Old, carefully maintained wooden furniture adorns the room, perhaps even soaked in patchouli.
This often slightly strange scent harmonizes beautifully with the wood, the sweetness of the pastries, and the slightly oily aroma of the freshly roasted coffee.
This harmony transfers to the guest: I absentmindedly, even a bit dreamily, play with the dry flowers of the potpourri that sits in an oddly shaped glass bowl on the table.
It contains jasmine blossoms!
Now the last secret of this strange yet so familiar and cozy space is unveiled!
"Opio Negro" is a true gourmand: sweet, deep, and warm dark fragrance fullness develops on the skin almost immediately.
A hint of caramel seems not impossible to me, before the warm yet very delicious top note merges with the fragrant jasmine.
The longevity is also quite remarkable: once fully developed, the scent remains a loyal companion to its wearer for several hours.
The bottle is smooth and unassuming - the content, on the other hand, is a real surprise!
I received this sample along with the ordered mini-sprayers. My curiosity led me today to simply test what is hidden in one of the three vials.
It is once again not a "big" or spectacular scent; but it does convey a bit of comfort. A cuddle factor is included.
Although I am not a particular gourmand fan, I am nonetheless delighted and pleasantly touched by this unexpected stroll through twisted old town alleys, which transports me into this coffee-scented world.
Through "Opio Negro," I may find my way back to this enchanted world more often; it could be a kind of "ticket" to it.
Addendum:
I find that my nose keeps wandering back to my wrist to capture a little more of this fine scent. - That is truly quite remarkable!
