Dreams come true
It took my over a year to find her (again), after I first met Boadicea Greenwich in Budapest’s Madison and fell in love with her but was too shy to take her home. And then she dissapeared from my sight. One day our paths crossed again and finally she arrived. What a joy! She is everything I remember and even better.
Rather dry and serious at the beginning, due to juniper, clary sage and black pepper, she gives sweetness to these who are patient: magnolia combined with rose and geranium, and then la grande finale with my beloved paitchuli with more rose, finishing with leather, oud and a bit vetiverish touch. All these bits of scents are fluent, come to and fro. The fragrance is like a second skin. Nothing will tear us apart again :)

I'm undecided...
Yesterday I unpacked the blind buy treasure (you really can't go wrong with Boadis) and after the first spray I croaked out an "oh nooo." I only smell incense... then incense, well, there's something fresh in there too. A scrutinizing look at the package insert: Nope, no incense in it. Huh?
Is that vetiver with the oud? Juniper? Yes. Black pepper? Yes, absolutely. Magnolia? Rose? Not to be found. For 10 minutes I smell like I've been hiding in the back of an old church ship all day. Only then does the incense facade fade and what remains is an improbably interesting oud-amber-pepper mix that is perceptible for hours with every movement of my arm... and it keeps changing. Sometimes with a pinch of cinnamon, sometimes vetiver... then again the warm amber prevails...
A scent that I'm still not quite sure... whether I like it and whether it can stay. Anyone looking for extraordinary, non-floral fragrances should definitely give this a try.

Flowers of Evil: brittle, archaic, and bizarre allure of ash+vetiver/oud-rose, with the power to strangle the world with one hand.

Between an oriental Bedouin tent and a Mediterranean luxury resort. The scent plays with Arabic (Oud) and European notes (Vetiver).

Lush floral beauty meets opulent oriental notes for a stunning blend. The concept works nonetheless and has a certain elegance.

Spices, soap, smoke - everything hits me unfiltered. Then comes the transformation into an elegant gentleman.

First a harsh-leathery oud accord with green herbaceous, spicy masculine notes and dry myrrh.
Later warm, subtly sweet base notes.

Sweetly medicinal rose-saffron-oud with a bitter-woody edge that makes the scent appear slimmer and more structured. Not new, but good!

Rose-Vetiver-Saffron-Oud. Right on the mark. Sparkling yet sensual. A hint of leather in the background. I can feel the excitement ...

Citrusy bright, but the oud lingers richly in the background. A few flowers join in. Good stuff but a bit overpriced.

Very elegant pepper vetiver oud mix. Cinnamon adds a certain oriental note that I really love. More for gentlemen than ladies.

Smoky, dark, herbal, spicy, very elegant - one of the best oud fragrances in the world, the bottle is a dream, the content even better.
