Biotherm Sport

The ubiquitous advertising setups in perfumeries as well as the commercials aired during prime time on German television make it clear: Here comes the next crowd-pleaser for Heinz Klawuttke from Oer-Erkenschwick.

Now, Biotherm is a well-liked brand in our household on the female side, and I also consider "Eau Pure" to be a fine thing, which is why I approached the topic of "Force" with goodwill. For a long time, I tried to convince myself of the fragrance or to discover the slightest hint of something unusual in it, but no, unfortunately...

The scent starts citrusy fresh and... oh, let's skip that, probably everyone can imagine how a contemporary clean men's fragrance smells, one that wants to sell but doesn't want to disturb anyone.

Even for me, who often shows understanding for such things, this was a bit lacking in backbone. The word "Force" is, of course, completely out of place here, but it has probably already been communicated in the marketing departments that "Sport" is slowly acquiring a negative connotation. So they opted out of that and incorporated the sporty aspect into the design of the bottle, which is supposed to resemble a dumbbell. It is heavy enough, after all. And the spray button is nice, but unfortunately, that's about it.
