Fruit Tea for Summer
A review of a fragrance that I have owned for several months: the EdP from Oltremare by the Italian house Bois 1920. With this EdP, there is quite a bit of boredom, while the discontinued EdT had more going on. I don't know why, as I haven't tested the EdT anymore. In my opinion, this EdP is clearly underrated. Not in the voting here, but it is hardly mentioned by anyone. A clear recommendation for testing goes out, especially to tea fragrance fans. In the general fragrance direction, this one does have some similarity to Wulong Cha, but in its DNA, it is quite unique and independent.
Bois 1920 is a great brand for me with a beautiful signature style. Although I don't own any other than this Oltremare, I find the creations very pleasant. I also think the creative cannabis line is cool. Many have a wonderful Italian flair.
I can say upfront: Even though this is listed as a masculine fragrance, I perceive it as 100% unisex. In my opinion, this fruit tea note cannot be assigned to any gender. Otherwise, it has few traits that can be associated with a gender.
In terms of price, you can get 50/100ml at fair prices. Even though the brand has more expensive options in its range, Oltremare is available at elevated designer prices. Specifically, this Oltremare is absolutely worth the price for me.
The bottles are uniform and give a high-quality impression. Nice glass, beautiful caps. Here in the combination of blue and gold. Very nice.
As mentioned: Oltremare is a tea fragrance. For me, this DNA has something absolutely summery about it. Especially friends of a refined and relaxed vibe will get their money's worth. What makes this fragrance very special: the rhubarb note, which does not come off as synthetic. A note that you don't encounter too often anyway. Together with this red tea, it's a combination that simply harmonizes. These notes already set in at the opening along with these pleasant citrus fruits. There is also a light aquatic and subtle floral notes present. However, the star of the creation is the rhubarb-tea combination. This combination simply has a clean, well-groomed summer appearance. The first few hours, this fragrance changes little, before the drydown becomes slightly woodier and more subtle.
Performance is decent for a freshie. Not a sillage monster but very pleasant and feels very elegant in combination with this wonderful DNA. Especially a great option for everyday wear, where you can easily use 1-2 more sprays. Longevity is 5-6 hours, possibly a bit more and subtly close to the skin.
Overall, for me, a great unisex fragrance that impresses with rhubarb tea and is unique. Anyone who likes a clean and well-groomed vibe should definitely give this a try.
