Interesting Facts
The history of this small Florentine family business had to leapfrog an entire generation to currently enjoy renewed success: in 1920, perfumer Guido Galardi experimented with home-collected Tuscan lavender and his own formulas. He opened the Bottega Italiana Spigo (Bo.I.S. = Bois), and the small perfume factory quickly made a name for itself among perfume lovers from Florence and the surrounding area. His son, however, had other interests, did not continue the art and closed the business in 1925.

The grandson Enzo, however, had inherited the talent and passion of his grandfather and became a perfumer. When his own learning, experience and skill had given him confidence (and the necessary money) in 2005, he opened the Bottega Italiana Spigo a second time under the name "Bois 1920", turning the grandfather's recipes and ideas into fragrance again.

A collection of eight perfumes, based on the traditional compositions, was born.... And either Guido Guaraldi was indeed so visionary as to be able to smell and create the fragrance of the future almost 100 years ago, or the grandson's reinterpretations are rather new compositions that are merely inspired by the old fragrances.
However and whenever the impetus for the Bois 1920 fragrances may have sprung from the Guaraldi imagination, the perfumes are all rich, artful compositions of choice ingredients. The precious flacons and packaging in noble design consistently continue the exclusive style.
