Almond, summer
Don't panic, just bear your towel!
VIA DEL CORSO is a fragrance for 40°C in the summer, when even the birds fall dizzy from the sky and a lemonade can save lives.

I feel almond, honey, stiflingly sweet scent, innocent as a smile on a child's face, and ruthless with its one-sidedness. Strong as the sunshine in July, lasting power keeps it 12 hours long on your skin.

Well, there you go
I love almond scents, I love gourmand fragrances, and I love scents with a good punch. So, my fragrances don't need to be shy. In my collection are the vintage Hypnotic and the new Confetto. And every time I picked up one of these fragrances, I couldn't imagine wearing one of them. There simply wasn't an occasion, even though the scents are beautiful in the right cautious dosage. Going out to eat? No, I'm not the dessert. In a meeting? Oh please not, something more understated would be better. A whole day with different people? These two fragrances never fit any occasion. Gosh, and they are so beautiful. But always somehow too much. And then, three years ago in Munich, I met him... via della corso. A brand completely unknown to me. And it was love at first sniff. A fragrance direction of which I had already had a few, yet it was completely different. It has hints of Confetto or HP. But it is more refined, more reserved, the elegance of a sophisticated Italian woman. The almond, beautifully intertwined with orange blossom, is immediately present and remains consistently dominant throughout the entire fragrance journey, always welcoming a sweet mandarin with open arms; I can't recognize jasmine or any other flowers, maybe they aren't even there, but musk makes this scent warm and cozy. Vanilla only comes in late, this dry vanilla bean paste that you scrape from the pod, which tastes almost a bit bitter when you lick some off your finger. Overall, this scent is by no means sweet. It accompanies me throughout the whole day, envelops me, makes me self-assured; I never have to think about whether it fits. Unfortunately, today when I wanted to reorder it, I found out it’s no longer available :(
So I will have to cherish the last 10 ml of my beautiful elegant Italian woman.

On the Road to Mandeley
This fragrance may not be as perfect and memorable as our national team's performance against Brazil, but it still sweetened my day without being overly sweet. It is definitely one of the most pleasant and beautiful almond scents, positioned just slightly behind Mandorlo di Sicilia by AdP. Achieving this balance between sweetness and seriousness is not something every almond fragrance manages; many overshoot the mark by miles. Here, it is not the case; the scent remains almost constantly in extremely pleasant and sympathetic waters.

Whether it's Pi, TI, Tardes, or Mandorlo di Sicilia - there are plenty of commendable, great almond fragrances, that’s for sure. Is there still a need for this insider tip from our southern neighbor and football rival? Definitely yes, because every good fragrance has a right to exist, even if there are already similar ones on the market. Via del Corso also starts off somewhat stormily with almonds, minimal citrus splashes, and jasmine - just on the verge of overdoing it and definitely showcasing the less appealing side of the fragrance. But even here, the scent does not drift into marzipan overkill and carnival chaos; it retains an elegant, Italian style that intensifies significantly in the second half. The almonds become more subdued, and in the end, only a gentle, refined veil of vanilla remains. Simple, but top top top!

Bottle: The lettering could be fancier, but that’s nitpicking at a high level.
Sillage: Here too, restraint is maintained; it’s almost an everyday almond scent.
Longevity: Weaknesses reveal themselves - 5-6 hours is not tragically short for a gourmand, but it is short.

For those who find most almond fragrances too childish, sweet, and intrusive, this insider tip should not be overlooked; give it a few hours on your skin... Maybe not a 7:1, but it could still be a win ;)

Almondy (Heliotropin), powdered licorice; a touch of jasmine. "White Out". "Confetto" is gourmand and
cheeky. This one is floral & unique.

This scent brings a smile to my face. Beautiful almond-vanilla powder fragrance. Sweet - yet still light. Price is very moderate.

Almond fetish? Can't get sweet enough? Then this scent is definitely worth a try. Nice, but not for me, feels a bit too cutesy.

Hey, this one has serious nerve potential! Hypnotic Poison's stuffy, heavy powderiness with a sweet, licorice-like almond dominance. Lasts like glue. Bam!

Creamy, vanilla. Almond is subtly noticeable, smells gourmand and yet clean. In the dry down, a clean musk with almond remains.
