Party Girl
Launched this year just in time for X-MAS shoppers (I'm thinking of men who rely on an established brand-name and who know that "Opium" would do for their mother but not for their girlfriend), "Manifesto L'Elixir" is even more opulent than the regular "Manifesto". "L'Elixir" has got strong notes of jasmine and tuberose and a very sweet vanilla-pudding base teamed with loads of ambroxan. This "new" formula is all about creating more impact with even less ideas than last year. Picture someone who wears giant jewels, power red and bubblegum pink and adores anything with too much shimmer and gloss. At work, she is neither the team player nor the boss lady, but the office party girl. Probably a modern heroine of capitalism. "Manifesto L'Elixir" tries very hard to come across as glamorous and grown-up, but my appetite for original fragrances is not in the least satisfied.

Opulent vanilla
I love vanilla fragrances. Hypnotic Poison, Addict, Sensous Noir… to dive into a wonderful, strong vanilla note is heaven to me. To sniff your sweater and sense the sweetness. That makes me happy. Sometimes the vanilla note is the only note remaining after many hours. Sometimes it is still strong. Manifesto l’Elixir is that kind of fragrance
Manifesto l’Elixir is one of the best vanilla scents there is, in my honest opinion.. The note is there from the beginning to the end. The lovely citric notes start the scent and after a minute the vanilla bounces on the walls. The flowers are there but they only support the vanilla note. After a while the cashmere note melts into the scent. Just delicious. I have worn this for a day, gone to bed, woken up and the vanilla was still there.
The bottle is a beautiful purple with golden details. Shaped like an hourglass figure you get the impression that this is a seductive scent fit for a visit at the nightclub. And it is. It looks amazing when the sunlight shines through the dense purple colour.

full bottle worth
Manifesto L'Elixir is one the few modern-mainstream perfumes that has a unique and distinct DNA.
It is a high quality vanilla creation, my main summery night time choice, extremely feminine, sensually and playful perfume that never fails giving me lots of compliments from men & women.
I will enjoy it till last drop but I will propably not repurchase it, although it has the potential of a signature perfume. Bravo to YSL house!

Intensive, transparent melt or I am the dream in which you fly
For a good half year, the Eau de Parfum intense has been in my collection and has already been put to good use.
However, it didn't lead me to comment on it quickly, as it is one of my absolute favorites and is more multifaceted than I initially thought and felt.
Often, I feel fear and discomfort at not finding the right words to describe all sensory impressions as precisely and helpfully as possible. It borders on reverence; luckily, we are all subject to the same addiction and know the problem of not being able to "honor" one of our favorite fragrances enough and to appreciate its uniqueness.

It was one of those unforgettable back-and-forth moments during the first sniff. This was during the pre-Christmas season, tossing money around in the city, with this scent in the back of my mind. The bottle immediately convinced me, as did the fragrance pyramid and the scent classification. The elixir seems to have quite a bit going for it. By the way, this is the first flanker of Manifesto. Unfortunately, I don't know that one yet; I don't see it as a disadvantage, as it allows me to approach the flanker as a completely independent fragrance.

So I quickly visited the next perfumery and sprayed it on...Ooooaaaahhhh, what is that? A juicy, fresh mandarin greets me in a flash and is promptly washed away by a soft, creamy, powdery, opulent floral, oriental, gently spicy wave of vanilla.
With wide-open eyes, I stand there, lingering with my nose on my wrist and probably looking like a paralyzed rabbit, but I don't care. Somehow, this feels familiar, the milky, gentle, and creamy accord. I experienced a similar blend of white flowers on the finest sandalwood with Dangereuse from Sentifique. The fragrance pyramids hardly resemble each other, yet both can boast their delicate, feminine melt. So delicious, so intoxicating and subtly narcotic, definitely distant relatives, those two man-eater fragrances.

It was the latent similarity that forced the wicked want-it impulse upon me. Since then, the fragrance has been used quite often and continues to impress and delight me with its many passionate facets.
As already mentioned, the short, fresh, orange-fruity opening. A cheeky contradiction in itself, as it is followed by a voluminous sea of flowers, crowned by an intense, simultaneously confusing transparent, woody vanilla. A feast for the senses, an adult, sensual, and demanding gourmand with oriental accents.
Although it is quite a punch, it retains an airy lightness. Similar to a creamy calorie bomb that melts so outrageously tender and smooth on the tongue as if it were nothing. This unusual aspect makes the fragrance still wearable even in warm, humid temperatures. I like it very much and it continues to amaze me anew.

The characterful heart note lingers very long on my skin and has quite a hefty sillage. The woody and spicy accents ensure that the strong vanilla note does not drift into the trivial and that the floral notes do not dance too rebelliously. The fragrance comes across as radiant and self-assured, feminine nobility and sophistication, passion, eroticism, and obstinacy, paired with oriental, spicy warmth without being strict. Along with a mischievous wink and a provocative but never cheap hip sway. My personal essence of the fragrance.

The base lures with gentle, quiet, powdery, minimally spicy vanilla. The fragrance shifts down a few gears but remains ever-present. If somewhat more subdued. A woody, slightly smoky echo gives the base an exciting, dark twist.

A fragrance that always suits me, never feels overloaded or trashy with appropriate dosing. However, it is best suited for evenings or going out. A true magnet for compliments, sneaking in with this scent is nearly impossible.
When it comes to head-turning factor, it can easily measure up to Classique, Alien, and Code femme. It brings a hefty sillage and longevity and clearly has the potential to be a signature scent.

Definitely a candidate that must always be in my collection. Due to its intensity, transparency, and richness of facets. I am curious how many bottles will fall victim to me and whether there is any other fragrance that will dethrone the elixir.

Purple (Vanilla) Rain
In this review, I will skip the backstory. Just like you. You skip any small talk and get straight to the point. Anyone who dabs you on their skin immediately feels your rich, warm, dense, and sensual vanilla kiss. For just a moment, bergamot and mandarin make a little bow together. One might almost think it's just to protect your victim because you immediately go all in. There’s no escape - your full-bodied, embracing nature completely captures one. Dense, opulent vanilla threads entwine me and won’t let go. If the name Addict hadn’t already been taken, it would surely belong to you. Captivated by you, I follow your further magic on my skin.
Although I can feel you with every fiber, I still find it hard to put you into words.
The rich violet of your bottle reflects you perfectly - you are for me Purple Vanilla Rain.
I once danced in you and have not been able to forget you since. You wear your golden cap proudly like a crown, and rightly so.
In the drydown, you envelop me like a protective cocoon. Only then does one recognize your gentle nature. To then say goodbye to you, melting softly after many hours - almost like a raindrop that evaporates before my eyes on my skin due to the warmth of the sun.
You are wild, exciting, dark, heavy, sensual, and simply beautiful.
What a pity that your creators have taken you off the market...

Scent: Just as described, dense, opulent, sensual, dark, and warm vanilla magic.

Sillage: Oh yes - it has that. One or two sprays are enough.

Longevity: Very good - worthy of YSL.

Bottle: Beautiful feminine purple dream.

Price: It used to be reasonable... currently, I’d rather not talk about it.

An intense scent with a caramel-vanilla fanfare and amazing sillage. Ambroxan adds extra strength.
Way too much for me.

A proof that under the name YSL, excellent fragrances can still be made. Sweet-floral opulence that shows who's boss. Dreamy!
