Brecourt is one of those brands with which I have not had good experiences so far. I have tested many, but liked few. I found several uninspired. In this respect, my expectations were rather low here as well. After reviewing the ingredients, it was clear that it would be a lemon and tea scent - and that suits me. In fact, I am very taken with it, as the distinctly noticeable lemon merges with a lovely spicy tea note into a creamy mélange, which the musk likely contributes to. Bergamot and mandarin remain subtle, yet still strong enough to understand that they are supposed to be present. There is a certain charm in that. A floral hint quietly wafts through the composition as well.
Many criticize particularly the longevity and weak aura here. I have mentioned often enough that this does not bother me. However, I find it not as bad as described. Although the scent quickly retreats to skin proximity, it remains noticeably around the person for a long time. During a walk in the fresh air, I repeatedly caught a whiff of the creamy lemon, even though I had only applied two economical sprays to the back of my hand. I do not want or expect more - for myself and my environment.
In this respect, Eau Blanche, the white water, has positively corrected my perception of Brecourt.
As another recommendation, Mauvais Garçon should be mentioned, an equally subtle lavender scent from this brand.
.. before Parfumo, such a delicate scent would have seemed too little to me - but I've come to realize that the beauty of a fragrance goes far beyond sillage and longevity. Hints can be quite alluring too :) .. enjoyed reading this again!
I definitely tested about ten different ones back then (2011) and wasn't particularly impressed. There were a lot of nice and pleasant scents, but nothing that left a lasting impression. This fragrance sounds great for a tea fan like me... - now that I think about it, my daily liter of tea is almost more important to me than my perfume...
Yes, a walk can sometimes be a clarifying tool (even if not exclusively for that purpose) to get to know a fragrance.
Stroll & lemon tea trophy for you!
I've only known the brand to be decent so far, but never outstanding, let alone innovative. That's okay though; sometimes you need exactly those kinds of scents. I don't know this one, but it fits into the Brecourt picture for me.
Strange, most people here drink coffee. Asian tea is usually only consumed, if at all, as CTC from pre-packaged bags. But in perfumes, it should smell like special, unique teas. I prefer to enjoy the finest tea varieties as a drink, and definitely without lemon, rather than as a fragrance note. Although tea notes in perfumes can sometimes be quite well done. Authentic tea notes should only be subtly "prepared" with a light sillage, and that seems to have been achieved well here.
I haven't had much experience with Brecourt yet. This direction appeals to me, and I'm sure I would like this scent as well. With really good fragrances, I'm happy to overlook a less pronounced longevity. Sometimes you get pleasantly surprised.
I initially wrote that I didn't know it at all, and then I saw that I had actually already rated it, heehee. But it didn't score very well. Back then, I tested several fragrances from Brecourt, and I ended up buying "Eau Trouble" - I liked it so much that I got it twice!
That's a very interesting comment, especially since I'm currently looking for the perfect tea scent and love citrus notes. I find the comment very informative and enjoyed reading it!
And the moral of the story: never give up on a brand! :)))
