Fishy and unpleasant

My word, I have never smelled a fragrance that actually smelled very literally like rotten fish until I met this salty beast. Gosh I feel so bad saying this, but I think the perfumer really needs to go back to perfume school. I think he is a chef or something? But perfume is not like cooking. You don't just mix in whatever sounds nice and get something yummy out of it (unless you are extraordinarily lucky). This smells like fish mixed with some horrid, aqua-colored men's shaving gel from the 90's; or a Glade "sea breeze" air freshener...with rotting fish. Just awful, awful stuff. There is a slight woody effect, almost like fir balsam. I almost purchased a full bottle, but someone passed along their sample first, and I am very glad they did. Very amateuristic, almost crude, fragrance. More like an experiment than a finished perfume. For something similar that is done beautifully, I would recommend Driftwood by Mirus.
