Finally, Mr. Gaultier!
I had a highly unpleasant experience with this scent in a perfume store. I wanted to test it, but it wasn't available. The ladies working there tried to convince me that Eau d'Amour is the same scent as Gaultier2. They wouldn't be swayed by anything better. I haven't been back since.

And Eau d'Amour is fortunately, man, am I glad about this, NOT the same scent as Gaultier2. I was able to bid on a half-full bottle. I would have really been annoyed because Gaultier2 develops on me like toilet blocks.

This scent here, on the other hand, is wonderful. It's lighter to wear than the classic Classiques, which I also love - and, that's the great thing: it doesn't smell like toilet block on me!

Eau d'Amour starts off sweet and fruity with a subtle spicy note. This intensifies as the mandarin fades and harmonizes in a very sensual way with the amber and the constantly present vanilla undertone.

From there, I understand why this is labeled as a unisex scent; what remains afterwards is spicy, warm, and not too sweet, which men can also wear. So, men who don't have a pronounced feminine side... The top note, on the other hand, I find very feminine, very sweet, as I said, I can hardly imagine that. I might have to spray it on my boyfriend, perhaps.

It's great when Classique is too intense for me, and I'm very glad that I trusted my ...uh... gut feeling and gave it a try without testing it beforehand.

Best of both worlds
For this comment, I need to refer to two other fragrances from the house of Jean Paul Gaultier:

On one side: Gaultier². I found it to be a pretty crazy creation right from its release. A fragrance made up of just three components (amber, musk, vanilla), and all of them very warm. Very simple, very moving. Why look far away, sometimes the simple things are the best. The perfume smells great, but I could never bring myself to make a purchase.

On the other side: Classique. THE women's fragrance that divides the nation. Either you love it, or you hate it. But it is undisputed that the scent is also a stunning creation and has now become a classic. The same base as Gaultier², but with a citrusy top note and a floral-spicy heart. I have never owned this fragrance either.

Eau d'Amour is the perfect blend of both: the citrusy fresh start and the spicy heart of Classique, along with the warm sensual base idea of Gaultier². And I HAD to have THIS perfume immediately.

This is truly a beautiful scent. So rich, powdery, creamy, floral, and sweetly sensual. It could also fit well in ET's drawer of "jogging pants fragrances." Slow down, switch off, cloud the senses, feel good.

Stroke of Genius²
Ah, I am simply enchanted...
Gaultier² is, as already mentioned, a knockout. Gaultier² Eau d'Amour is no less impressive, on the contrary.
The two fragrances could be twins, although not identical.
Eau d'Amour is fresher, citrusy, somehow creamier, and has a powdery undertone. Interestingly, Eau d'Amour only has this creaminess on me; it smells completely different on my husband... there it is again, the scent-works-on-everyone-else effect.
On him, Eau d'Amour is very animalistic, warmer, and very sensual.
I have no idea how Gaultier manages this, but he is a genius.
Both sillage and longevity are just as enormous as the original; you get to enjoy the beautiful scent for a long time and intensely.
Another advantage: Eau d'Amour fits any occasion, whether it's a party or a casual night in.

My Great Love
My absolute favorite perfume!!!

I got it in 2008 as a Valentine's Day edition and have never been able to let it go since!
When I go out, I usually wear this scent, and so far I have only received compliments.
For me, this is the most interesting fragrance composition I have ever smelled.
At first, it smells herbaceous and powdery on me, and after 2 hours it smells completely different, somehow sweeter.
And that's exactly why I love it.

Different from Gaultier²
At first, I perceive intense lemon and orange aromas. Then the fragrance becomes floral - perhaps that's the coriander, as there are no flowers mentioned in the description. I also think I can detect a distinct honey and pollen note. In the end, a bright, sweet note remains with dark (woody?) accents - that must be the vanilla with the musk.

Eau d'Amour smells distinctly different from Gaultier²; it is also lighter and fresher. I think that those who like Gaultier² will not automatically like Eau d'Amour, and vice versa. Therefore, I don't understand why it was released as a flanker and not as an independent fragrance (probably just in the expectation that both would be purchased together).

Brighter and more powdery than the big sister - but just as wonderful. And unfortunately just as discontinued. Beautiful bottle!

Fresh, citrusy delight (similar to a labdanum note), sweet-powdery-light spicy notes mixed in. Creamy-fresh base. I really like it!

Bright, fresh citrus in it but otherwise identical to the oriental sweet, unmistakable Gaultier². Just not quite as heavy. Very sweet.

Sweet, powdery, and citrus-fresh. I've never smelled a combo like this before. You can't deny the Gaultier DNA.

Very sweet and powdery. A lovely scent, but you have to like sweet things!

Fresher than the original, fruity but not overwhelmingly sweet, a promise of love... for everyone from young to young at heart...

The small, very pretty sister of Gaultier² - just a bit lighter and more citrusy.

Spicy amber with a hint of musk and vanilla. I really like you! How can anyone not like you?! H/S is great too.

Adds fresh floral notes to the EdP. Not as heavy anymore, but H/S is still intense. Was significantly cheaper than the EdP.
