A cloud of cloves

With Ricki Hall - Booze & Baccy, I'm dealing with a fragrance that comes with a full blast of cloves. I find the scent quite successful, but in the end it was a little too intense and spicy for me. The longevity is good at around 8 hours and the sillage is pretty solid so far.

As mentioned at the beginning, the top note starts with a brute clove aroma. There is also a hint of rum and cognac. The heart note continues with the spicy scent of cloves but also balsamic notes of galbanum. I also recognize bay leaves and thyme. The base smells oriental and again clove-heavy, making me think of stomach bread. I also sniff out aromas that make me think of tobacco and incense. There is also a hint of sweet bourbon vanilla in the background. A resinous woodiness should also be mentioned here.

This is definitely a masculine, boozy barber fragrance, but it seems a little too unbalanced to me. Thanks to Sam for the bottling.
