I recently added this fragrance to my collection.
Wow, the first sniff surprised me.
Let's start from the beginning - the outside - :
The packaging looks high-quality.
A cocoa brown box, protected by a cream-colored cover printed with a beautiful motif in a similar brown.
Inside the box is the bottle, softly nestled, just like with other fragrances from Afnan.
This bottle feels nice in the hand; the side elements make it feel grippy and less slippery.
The cap is held magnetically on the bottle.
The spray head is easy for me to operate and disperses the perfume quite well.
The fragrance:
Right after spraying, a leather bomb pushes to the forefront, even though leather doesn't appear in the fragrance pyramid.
That was the surprise, but not a bad one.
It's almost a rugged leather;
Guilty Absolute pour Homme feels fruitier in comparison, and initially also a bit sweeter.
At first, the fragrance also seems a bit synthetic to me.
However, the synthetic undertone disappears relatively quickly.
Over time, the leather recedes, and the other notes come to the fore.
It remains spicy but also becomes sweeter and softer, with the tobacco becoming more prominent.
A little later, it becomes almost cozy.
The leather still plays gently in the background, while the tobacco and spice cuddle up closely with a bit of sweetness.
Even at this stage, it is not an overwhelming sweetness.
A hint of bitterness remains present with the tobacco and spice, which keeps the fragrance interesting for me.
On my skin, I can still clearly perceive the fragrance after four hours when I sniff it myself.
I also assess the sillage as good.
The initial synthetic note fades quickly, after which the fragrance showcases its other components well, and then retreats to body closeness after a few hours.
