Skilful mix of Tuscany, Nobile and Cacharel

There was a time in the early 90s when Chevignon was a relatively hip brand. Not that everyone could afford them, because the leather jackets cost at that time loosely 700-800 DM, but on the back the label logo was embroidered in large letters and was proudly carried by the wearer and acknowledged by the viewer with "he can afford something", "such a boaster" or "stupid brand slave".

Accordingly, with so much publicity and brand hype, it was consistent to bring an own fragrance onto the market. That one played in a completely different price segment, so that also the underprivileged could carry something from Chevignon. If I'm not misled, he was mainly offered for sale in drugstores, as Cappellusman hinted.

I definitely couldn't do anything with the snobby jackets, but I didn't even find the scent so wrong, although I had never put it on myself. As a cheaply acquired mini he was nevertheless allowed to move into my collection recently. And so I was finally able to test him extensively.

What surprised me most of all was in the beginning this green-fresh spicy chord, which started right after the sharp-citric top note (similar to Tuscany by Aramis) and made me think intensively of Nobile by Gucci. Unfortunately, this pleasure is only short, but Chevignon hasn't shot his powder yet.

What follows is a fine warm melange of spicy and woody notes, with a subtle citrus base and a clear oakmoss patchouli finish. Really made very valuable and anything but drugstore segment.
A little Chevignon has something of Cacharel pour Homme in the back, which are at least similar.

All in all a 1a-Eau de Toilette which was solidly composed all around. The only thing that might have to be questioned about the concept is the leather that is dimmed very far down, which actually would have fitted the brand perfectly.
But it is not a shortcoming for the fragrance itself and therefore it is still a positive surprise!
