Purple basil
The topic of expectations has already been touched on here in the reviews. Although I don't have any with "Basilic Purpre", but rather a good deal of curiosity, because what could you possibly imagine with red or purple basil?

After all, Hermès opted for a classic basil-green bottle so as not to completely confuse customers. After spraying it, I myself associate it more with the green notes of basil and a little rose geranium, a fresh, tart splash of bergamot and a colorful blend of spices that rounds off the composition.
I hear patchouli rather deep in the background, but it is there.

Despite the relatively linear progression, a slightly soapy-sweet to light woody swirl is interesting. With a little imagination, you can even sniff out fruity nuances.

All in all, a really fine summer kick, even if I don't find any purple, long-lasting or generous projection here. It's actually a cologne and therefore fizzles out again shortly after spraying it on.

A gardenia garden full of jasmine
When you enter this garden, where you expect to find mainly gardenias, you are surprised by a full broadside of jasmine. That's no drama and there are definitely worse things, but anyone expecting gardenia will be quite irritated by this rather feminine introduction.

After just a few minutes, this impression is put into perspective as the gardenia finally comes into its own. At this stage, it is still floral with a tart base and no longer quite so feminine, but definitely unisex. This is also ensured by a little sandalwood, which makes the fragrance smell a little softer and creamier. It then remains linear.

In my opinion, Essencia N°2: Gardenia is therefore more of a fragrance for relaxing and unwinding than a fragrance for going out or seduction. Those who are particularly looking forward to Gardenia will have to make a few compromises. Those who have problems with jasmine (there are many facets) should better look for alternatives.

Mandarin seed
With all the flankers, intensities and now also vintages of AdG and AdG Profundo, it's a bit of a challenge to keep track of them all.
In principle, I should have gone from the EdT to the EdP and then to the perfume, but a sample of the latter fell into my hands, so the order is more or less irrelevant to me.

Let's quickly get to the facts: the AdGs or AdG Profundos stand for freshness overall, which this perfume version also serves. In addition to the maritime character, there is also a strong splash of bergamot plus strawflower at the heart, which together makes you think of mandarin. Subtle, but thoroughly charming and ideal for hot summer days, especially as it lasts a long time.

Otherwise, little can be read or interpreted from such a creation.
It fits in with the AdG series without, however, coming close to the original. In addition, I feel that it lacks a valuable independence, because the fragrance could come from any mainstream brand, possibly even from the drugstore shelf, whereby one inevitably cannot avoid the issue of price/performance. So: decent, but that's about it!

The dropout for beginners
Fresh, green, citrusy and with only a minimal creakiness, Vettiveru gets straight to the point in the first few seconds. For those who are new to the vetiver theme, it might come across as quite sociable. For vetiver fans who are already used to a lot, especially the creaky king #vetiverguerlain or the super-soft #rojavetiver, this version will be too ordinary.

As we all know, vetiver, like patchouli, is a polarizing ingredient that covers a wide olfactory spectrum. It starts with earthy-crispy and then ends with citrusy-fresh. The Vettiveru comes across as solid at first, but then tends towards a slightly dry finish a little later on. This could be due to a touch too much cedarwood and is of course a matter of taste. For others, it may be just the right amount of woodiness.

I can only confirm that Vettiveru is a solid creation, but nothing outstanding. In my opinion, it has also been discontinued in the meantime, although the question arises as to whether former fans have now taken other alternatives to their hearts.

It's all about the nuances
It's a shame that Sven Pritzkoleit has given up his passion as a perfumer. After all, he has created some remarkable fragrances in the course of his career, such as Liquorice Vetiver or Sunmilkflowers.

In my opinion, Green Tea is less creative and original at first glance, although it is at least a solid fragrance. After all, you get what you expect: a usable freshie with a wonderful tea top note and a tart base. There are also a few drops of citrusy fruit and a slightly woody base with a minimally soft amber/musk core.

Actually quite pleasant and different in subtle nuances to conventional tea fragrances.
The consistent naturalness from start to finish is striking.

Ideal for hot days as a subtle way to cool down, but it disappears faster than you would like. For me, one spray was enough for a good six hours, but in less than half the time it became very short-lived. I think that should be acceptable.
