More "girl next door" than "woman," but that's okay.
My relationship with this fragrance is not very easy.
I own two bottles of him and have bought none of them myself. Even I would not have chosen him in the store. Now the first bottle is soon empty and it is mainly because I own it for a long time and finally want to use up.
While the Christina Aguilera Signature was my favorite perfume in my teenage years and I still quite like the smell, I can not do too much with Woman.
Since I've been wearing it more lately, I've been looking into the scent a bit more. Generally speaking, he does not smell bad and I like him now also a little more than before, but still he is not really mine.
Right at the beginning I notice a rather pungent note. I assume that this is the combination of the bergamot and the red pepper. This prelude I did not like for a long time at all, but now I find it quite exciting. Only after that a softer, fresh fruit note comes out, which is very pleasant and creates a really nice transition to the heart note.
Once the heart note has fully unfolded, I find the fragrance unfortunately very boring. The flowers smell quite nice, but I miss a certain depth, something that makes the whole thing a little more aromatic. On top of that, the scent starts to dissipate very (!) quickly on my skin. The tonka bean and sandalwood could round out the scent so nicely. The scent is very nice and warm, creamy and sweet, but unfortunately only detectable as a light whiff. And even that only when I really put my nose on my skin. After two hours, I smell almost nothing. Of course, I could re-spray, but I prefer not to have to do that.
What I actually like about the scent is that it's very close to my body. I don't want to impose myself on anyone, and I definitely don't with this perfume.
Despite my criticism, I think you can't go wrong with Woman on a day-to-day basis. It may be a bit statement-less, but everything doesn't have to be a statement either. There are definitely moments when I just don't feel like being special somehow. And for such moments, this fragrance is very well suited.
Finally, I would like to note that I have actually received compliments on this perfume. It will never become my favorite and I will not repurchase it after the second bottle, but it shows that even the quiet fragrances can have a great effect.
