Bengalore Tiger in a Zoo
This is so NOT what I imagined. Blind buy alert. Another golden example of why not to buy fragrances un-sniffed. Not that the fragrance is bad, but the listed notes and interpretation of the overall effect of this fragrance are disappointingly askew with reality. I should be smelling a rich middle Asian rice pudding here accented with a spicy almost peppery cardamom bite. Instead I get a very regular, western U.S.A. type floral copycat, that cost 3 times the amount of Banana Republic's W. This is a dry floral, not sweet, but astringent and a nice daytime scent in the same realm as Jivago 24K (again!) but without any hint of sexy musk in the dry down. It's prissy and rather sheer compared to the strength and longevity of even Banana Republic's W. It's definitely wearable and office appropriate- but really, it actually kind of bugs me after a couple of minutes. I can not distinguish if it bugs me because it smells nothing like Rice or Cardamom or Milk- all three of my most coveted notes, BTW...or if my angst is due to how I feel when wearing this one- I think it's the later. It's a flat scratchy floral not a rich spicy monsoon blossom. I say thumbs down not worth the price and the liquid is not blue as pictured in the photo above either. Another bottle goes into the archive of "whatever" fragrances and on to the next for me. I think the Cinq de Monde folks most also have realized it's redundancy and discontinued it...bravo!
