Hubert, you did a great job!!!

The "Mille et une Histoire" sample landed rather accidentally and without great expectations in my shopping cart. Together with "Histoire d'un Reve" from the same house (by the way, also a great fragrance).

When ordering the 10 sample set were simply still two places free, which had to be occupied somehow. And in the end, it was then exactly these two that I liked the best...

To take it right away: "Mille et une Histoire" is a decidedly classic fragrance with a clearly perceptible vintage attitude....in contrast to other reviewers, however, I feel it neither as "strict" nor as chypre......

My nose sniffs out a slightly oriental-influenced floral that, unlike typical orientals, always remains veil-like and airy, never becoming heavy or even brute.....

The opening is radiantly citrusy.....accompanied by a flattering peach note that contributes a brief fruity moment.....last, however, is so fleeting that it is hardly worth mentioning and also has nothing to do with "fruity" in the conventional sense.....

As the fragrance progresses, it now becomes more buttery and gentle.....enveloped by a delicate green note of violet..... "lovely" or even "playful", however, it does not become.....the well-measured antagonists pepper and cardamom provide an ever-present spiciness that maintains the fragrance's classic character ....

The flowers of the heart note are also "well-tempered" and stage themselves in elegant background.....without losing sensuality....

Towards the base, the fragrance becomes softer and softer.....almost balsamic...... gradually a very subtle sandal vanilla sweetness joins in, which in turn finds its balancing counterpart in the cedar....

I take my hat off to this excellent and courageous composition, which opposes the zeitgeist in such a harmonious and confident way....
