Beautiful golden incense
I find this to be a stunning incense fragrance - it smells golden to me, if that makes sense. There is this beautiful hint of salt to it as well, unexpected but wonderful. Dirty and leathery labdanum live in the base.

Evening Glows from the Sea into the Alleys
Far down in the winding alleys, the narrow gorges between ancient houses, you make your way down to a canal over worn stone steps, it shimmers on sunburnt bricks. And you know, a little further is the mouth of the sea, yet you linger in the shade here, under the arches of broad bridges, and settle down on dusty clay, for the golden hour is already beginning.
The stones are now like warm ovens, from the market you hear the merchants calling softly, their voices echoing with the scents, lemons, sugar, and seafood through the delicate smoke of burnt shells in the fires further down by the river. Inside, the sun shimmers in a thousand rays, the tide washes salt into the cinnamon-brown waves that dance in slow motion above you against the ceilings of the dark archways, like reddish glowing reflections of embers over the sea, the evening light flows in Siam resins over the wooden roofs. And from the churches and small chapels, clouds of incense waft through the alleys, boats sleep like driftwood under bridge arches by amber rivers.

Dawn Spencer Hurwitz from North Boulder, Colorado, moves with her fragrances in the flowing border areas between perfumes, bespoke, aromatherapy, and collaborations with artists.
"Onycha" was created in reference to the incense that, according to traditions from ancient Greece, was burned in Solomon's Temple. Labdanum and benzoin played the main roles here. They do so in Dawn's creation as well.
"Onycha" opens with a sweet-fruity labdanum accord, warm woody-citrusy amyris oil, and salty-smoky notes (Choya Nakh, seashells, fossil amber). As it develops, the dominant notes are primarily medicinal-cinnamon Siam benzoin, balsamic frankincense, and sweet opoponax resins, before in the drydown earthy oud and especially dark cedar and bitter Siam woods emerge beneath. The overall impression remains darkly resinous, smoky, salty, woody, and dusty, and I too have, as mentioned by PallasCC below, the impression of warm stone resonating. The evening under the bridge arches is moderate and lasts just under seven hours.

Slightly sweet incense. The onycha shells impart a nice rough mineral facet, but the overall impression is a smooth blend.

Labdanum and amber take center stage, spicy resinous, smoky woody, warm balsamic. DSH has done it right once again.

The little I know of Ms. Hurwitz has been good, and this one can impress me despite the Oud. A nice spicy mix of on one hand ....
