melancholic vanilla
The name likely refers to the Bridge of Sighs in Venice. However, I bought it in Verona and immediately honored the old Roman bridge with it.
At first contact, the scent seemed amber-like to me. Apart from the vanilla, I can't pick out any of the listed fragrance notes individually, but it certainly doesn't smell synthetic or artificial. Initially accompanied by a vague freshness, it then becomes a bit sweeter and more vanillic. It is balsamic, amber-like, with a slight spiciness and smokiness. Always soft and sensual - but serious and dignified. A calm, soothing scent that I wanted to sniff again and again. Not playful, definitely not stimulating, not particularly exciting, as it lacks a significant scent development, rather somewhat melancholic. For contemplation, for being alone... if it inspires anything at all, it's to go back to a library.
The longevity is very good, still noticeable the next morning. In the drydown, especially on clothing, the smokiness remains. I also find it wearable for men, if they like this sweetness and vanilla.
Addendum: The bergamot in the top note is quite noticeable when I spray it on clothing. Warm skin probably absorbs it too quickly otherwise.
And: I am now quite sure that patchouli is also included.
