Contemporary woody-pepper
Mood Indigo opens with a synthetic woody-peppery accord made thicker and “juicier” by green-floral notes and something slightly earthy-vegetable (pimento, I guess). Warmer, cozier sandalwood-incense-amber drydown, a bit more pleasant than the first stages. Several designer scents come to mind, pick any woody-peppery-amber scent somewhere between 2000 and today and mix it with anything from Comme des Garçon’s Incense series. Maybe just a tad sharper and more “minimalist” (i.e., plain) here. Buxton’s style at its best, where “Buxton’s style” means using the same three or four dry, cold synthetic woody-peppery-incense notes again, and again, and again. Anything the abovementioned Comme des Garçons or other “contemporary mainstream” brands could have accomplished 10 years ago, at a fraction of this price. Now, I admit I am really not the greatest fan of this kind of perfumes except for a few of them, so I may be particularly un-sensitive to this type of inspirations, but this really seems the epitome of boredom to me. It smells decent, but completely dull and mute. And kind of cheap too. An icy transparent blend which appears as interesting and charming as a cute, still kind of lame model whose career won’t probably go any further than posing for some Asos underwear pages.

Moth and Rabbit / Mood Indigo
After the sensational "la Haine", a few other very good fragrances of this brand (the Lobster, Enter the Void, Blow Up, Single man) and a few weaker ... it was the turn of this player, which I liked very much. The fragrance for me is more masculine - dominated by notes of burnt sandalwood and cedar, resins and geraniums. In addition, chamomile with a water lily was added here (an interesting and slightly bitter experience) and darkened - "dark side of the scent" - with patchouli and musk. The fragrance for me smells like an Indian rest room, where the smells of roasted sandal-wood-flower incense are very noticeable. For me, it has a very masculine character. I liked it very much. The smell stays on my skin for about 6 hours with projection on the length of my hand.

Cedar and Incense in Pleasant Combination
A quiet, lovely scent. Not a banger but a well-balanced expression of cedarwood and incense, with red pepper off the top. And not a synthetic, in-your-face cedarwood but a pleasant background to a layer of frankincense. Nor is it simple, because the other notes are all adding to the layering. Since I first put it on I've been captivated and while it can be worn year round, it really suits fall days and warmer winter weather. I would recommend even more heartily and entirely without reservation were it not that -- on me, at least -- it does have great longevity or sillage. But while I can smell, it puts on a smile on my face.

Meditative Incense with Addiction Factor
I never thought I would say this again, but here it is: I have found MY fragrance. Not that I knew what I was looking for at all, but after hundreds of sample tastings, I finally found a scent that bothers me not one bit, and all I think is: Mmmhhh!

Mood Indigo is primarily an incense scent, but unlike most incense fragrances that have come my way, this one has nothing at all cloying about it; instead, it smells radiantly bright, almost clean-smoky, which has an ultimate calming effect on me. One breath and I am completely relaxed - and super happy. Almost as if it triggers an endorphin push in me. That alone is a reason why I love this perfume - it simply puts a smile on my face. And as is often the case with good things, you can never get enough of it. I catch myself sniffing my wrist about every 5 minutes to inhale another dose of Mood Indigo.
It’s also nice that despite its spiciness, it has no heaviness at all and comes across uniquely light for a spice scent. I believe you can't overdose on it even with multiple sprays, which is another quality I greatly appreciate.

I can't say anything about the film; I haven't seen it and must admit that the backstory to this perfume interests me less - I am just glad to have found this gem and surely won’t let it go.

Fine "Spirits" in the Changing Light
The deeper I delve into the wondrous world of pleasant scents, the more subtle messages of fragrances I get to know. With this beautiful perfume, I have brought a "fine spirit" under my nose that enjoys playing with light and shadow. Sometimes it’s just delicate nuances that make themselves known, sometimes larger leaps. It starts from the "head," which sways in its chamomile pepperiness in sunny security and dips into a softly minty summer flower mood. But already from here, subtle shadows come into play, lightly earthy - surrounded by woods - like thin veil clouds that lay over the sun. On a sultry afternoon. From time to time, a smoky haze may settle over a light forest, whose paths branch out and lead mysteriously into denser realms. A kind of "Lost Places" that radiate a slightly disturbing calm.
To later find oneself again in brighter and balsamic distances. Only constant change drives the scent - but without any haste or unrest. A lively development with a certain tension, quiet - but well "heard," mystical - yet neither too "diabolical" nor too "sacred."
Here, no "sorcerer" was at work, rather a herb-loving monk who occasionally harbors doubts about an overly perfect world and is wise to his own lighter and darker sides.
A fragrance for all who love the subtly mysterious!

From the start incense and sandalwood are dancing away to the music of other components. Dd is calm, warm and soft with some chamomile in it

Transparent, slightly sweet white flowers, later also dry incense, which adds some bitterness. Good implementation of the movie plot!

I'm getting total CdG vibes here, which is no surprise from the perfumer. Frankincense as the main note, slightly camphoraceous at the start, delicate.

The incense so soft, a little sweet. The chamomile so gentle and calm.
Completely warm and quiet.
Beautiful.

An earthy wood scent, subtly smoky with a clear green tendency that evokes thoughts of coniferous forests.
Like sauna infusion or massage oil..

Bright incense and light floral notes.
Chamomile then adds a twist to Hakle moist... Not good at all for the sensitive bottom!

Frankincense in the igloo creates a sense of "warmth". Chamomile tea brewed with lily water feels soothing and healthy. Beautiful!

Can incense be soft and powdery? It can, Buxton said, as he named chamomile the messenger of the message. Very successful.
