Durance en Provence Eau de Toilette

Fleur d'Oranger I had ordered a while ago together with some room fragrances, after a small sample had captivated me in a little booklet. When I finally had it in "large quantities," it suddenly didn't seem so precious anymore, and it smelled somehow good and also not so good. But as you can see, I ended up using quite a bit of it to eventually place it far back on the shelf.

Now I have used it again to layer with a tested scent that got stuck in my cardigan and annoyed me there. It worked. I only smell orange and have been doing so for over 24 hours!

Why doesn't this fragrance really convince me? Fleur d'Oranger, Eau de Toilette, somehow belongs to France for me, just like Chianti belongs to Tuscany.
I worked in France a long time ago and still vividly remember the mix of the smells of Gauloises, espresso, and those perfumes that developed quite differently in that society. Here, in my surroundings, I somehow don't find it really fitting.

I feel the same way about some fragrances from Durance that I have tested but already forgotten. They are the scent of France and taste best to me in their own country.

In my vacation apartment in Southern France, there was a scented candle from Durance with the fragrance “Fleur d’oranger.” Whenever I entered the apartment, this scent surrounded me, so fresh and “clean” and somehow special.
I stumbled upon the fact that Durance also offers perfume when I wanted to buy a few scented candles as a souvenir for home at a garden market. There, in the decor section, next to scented candles and room fragrances, there were also perfumes… And what can I say? This led to a great love for the brand and especially for the Eau de Toilette “Fleur d’oranger.” My first 100ml bottle has shrunk to about 20ml of remaining content after just over a year, as much as I have worn this scent. And since I couldn't find the perfume in Avignon, where I spend my summer this year, I drove 70 kilometers to Grignan for a new bottle (and many more perfumes and scented candles), where there is a Durance shop next to the production facility.

The scent can actually be described quickly: a grove of blooming orange trees in Southern France. Despite the citrus notes, it is not sweet at all, but rather a very fresh, clean, and clear fragrance, with a hint of spiciness mixed in.

On my skin, the scent lasts all day - I also spray multiple times on my wrists, neck, and into my hair - and on clothing, it is still noticeably present the next day. The sillage and projection are also good. I have been complimented on the scent several times, even once at the gym by another gym-goer who noticed my perfume despite the Corona distancing rules (always one machine blocked between machines).
The scent is more suitable for spring and summer, but I also wear it occasionally in autumn when I feel nostalgic for vacation memories.
Since it is a fresh and uncomplicated fragrance, it can be worn daily.
I would say it qualifies as a unisex scent with a tendency towards the feminine side. However, due to its very subtle spiciness, I believe men can wear it well too.
I find the price-performance ratio excellent. For under 40 euros, you get the 100ml bottle.

Anyone who loves the scent of orange blossom or orange blossom water will adore this perfume! And those who love Southern France will definitely love it!
