Lily of the Valley No. 1 - A Trip to Russia
First of all - I am totally into lily of the valley scent. My plan is to test 3 - 5 fragrances that revolve around lily of the valley in the near future. Now, finding lily of the valley as a fragrance note on Parfumo should be no problem, one would think.... but I only discovered this lily of the valley by skimming through various comments where this fragrance was mentioned very positively. It wasn't until I entered the name explicitly that it showed up. The next supposed problem, I thought, would be obtaining it. But that turned out to be easier than expected - a small Russian online shop has the complete range from Novaya_Zarya. The site is entirely in German and offers PayPal payment - so completely risk-free. The price delighted my "blind buyer's heart," and so I went for it.
Two days later, the "silver lily of the valley" arrived along with another lovely fragrance.
The packaging features a beautiful vintage lily of the valley, as does the bottle with its grass-green plastic cap. Overall, the presentation feels a bit like the old poetry album pictures. Then I took the first sprays (the atomizer sprays beautifully fine and dosed) and found myself in lily of the valley heaven immediately.
It smells incredibly present with the promised bells, slightly green with a hint of honeysuckle. The distinctly noticeable pear adds a touch of fruitiness. The scent is not sweet but truly floral-green-fruity. In colors, this smell would be white-light green-pastel yellow for me. It is what it promises - a strong lily of the valley scent without much fuss. Sillage and longevity are really good. For the first 4 hours, it is clearly noticeable to those around - so spraying excessively should be avoided. On the skin, it dissipates after 4 hours, but on clothing, it lasts impressively and can still be detected the next day.
I am incredibly grateful to this community for stumbling upon such rare treasures, which are absolutely uncommon for us. Russian perfumes are not found too often. I would never have come to know or buy this fragrance otherwise.
I truly find it fantastic, and the price-performance ratio leaves nothing to be desired.
