Fruit and powder - not all art is my kind of art

What i smelled:
The opening is a blast of juicy melon and a sour kind of orange, that play hide and seek with each other. Right away, this one is pretty soapy and powdery.
The melon stays after the opening, but is joined by a very old fashioned (baby powder) rose and soapy violet notes.
There is some unmistakeable soapy leather underneath.

What I like:
I like how it shifts a lot - sometimes I get more melon, then suddenly violet-lemon candies with soap, then soapy rose, then melon again.
Impressive projection.

Bottom line:
I think it's a beautiful piece of art, but one that it hasn't aged very well (unlike, say, Guerlain's Après l'Ondée).
The soapiness is quite extreme. It bothers me when I'm wearing this. The rose note is also very old-fashioned. It is great as a reference scent, or to use for a re-enactment of some sort, but not so much for daily wear.
