This isn't your original Chypre your grandmom used to wear
This isn't your original Chypre your grandmom used to wear it's clean and modern The opening is green with an sour
tinge of Galbanum then as it dries it sweetens with Amaretto an alcoholic note
that is a bit brave and daring even if the
consumer is under 21, orange blossom is a tad diluted also jasmine but Narcissus
with it's deep and intoxicating properties is dominant and blends nicely

Orris or Iris adds to a powdery earthy
finish and with dry Vetiver.

The Boozy sweetness is a cross between
Ralph Lauren's Pure Turquoise & Queen Latiffah's Queen also i never tried
to original Vivara so i can't judge
but this is nice but it does'nt last long on my skin. it's clean and modern The opening is green with an sour

A Drop of Vacation
Vivara is a small island in the Mediterranean that would perfectly fulfill a longing for a beach vacation under the southern sun that has been rising within me during this Corona summer of 2020... - if only I could travel there.
But fortunately, the old Vivara perfume by Pucci still exists, the Italian specialist in silk jersey fashion in bright colors and characteristic patterns.
Vivara is as radiant as a Pucci fabric, a green chypre that immediately evokes a Mediterranean landscape. Lemon, bergamot, cypress, rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, sandalwood, and labdanum create a lively and carefree scent.

(No Calone in sight. No seaweed, fennel, or salt either).

You gaze at the Mediterranean, a small wave breaks like a soft sigh at your feet.
Sunny happiness in the wind, nonchalance. The horizon blurs.
A brief escape to a vacation island, captured in a tiny drop of "Vivara perfume."
I’m off...

The Impossible Becomes Possible
Here I am dealing with a fragrance that gives me a bit of a headache. (I own a small sample vial. Thank you, dear E.)
A scent that manages to completely test my nose.
After applying a dab on my wrist, I first had to recalibrate my nose with 4711 (works great) to take a closer look at "Vivara" again.
I have the impression that this EdP is very reluctant to reveal its secrets, as it is so complex. What I perceive first is a spiced, green-tinged fruit sorbet that feels both "citrusy" and "apricoty."
This is combined with a range of flowers, with rose and clove being prominent, yet a hint of deeper layers makes me curious. I can almost feel them in front of me, so close, as if something is "on the tip of my tongue," only to disappear when I try to articulate it.
Yet in the next careless moment, it reappears, as if it wants to "fool" me.
A fleeting hint becomes a scent element, inky, heavy, dark? Then again the brightness of the flowers, almost cool underneath.
No chance? To catch it? It gains strength... MOSS!! flashes in my mind.
But there is more. Underneath. Beneath the beneath? Indeed....
Another brief 4711 pause, two minutes waiting... inhaling "Vivara" again.
Now the "underneath hints" come closer. A tiny bit of sandalwood... now persistent. Frankincense, myrrh, patchouli.... pulsating. Then again the flowers from earlier and the "green" from even earlier. Lost base!!??
No, it fades, only to reappear all the more present without warning.
Then a kind of leather, dark, slightly bulky... grumblingly adapting to the fragrance.
The previous fullness of the scent is still there, now only as if behind a smoked glass pane, behind which bright, colorful lights blink from time to time, then it dims again to "smoked glass"....
I believe that the perfumer(s) have managed to give a fragrance a kind of life of its own. Change in slow motion, hardly graspable,
but when minutes pass without sniffing, and then I do again...
I could believe that I missed something in the meantime.
Yet if I continuously sniffed, I would notice "nothing."
Impossible????
No!!!!

Approaching a Fragrance
In this comment, I must preface that I only own a mini, from which the top note is clearly off. However, after about 5 minutes, a beautiful, elegant, and cool scent emerges, making it difficult for me to comment on it appropriately.

As a rough estimate, I would say "floral," but Vivara is by no means romantic; rather, it is cool and elegant. Aldehydes are definitely at play, and I also detect a dry note that vaguely reminds me of soft, light suede. I also suspect creamy fruit notes without acidity and delicate spices. In our classifications, I miss "mossy," because I am quite sure that this rather dark note in the base can be nothing else. So much for my "blind attempt."

But what is the H&R Fragrance Atlas doing on the bookshelf, and behold, my nose is not so bad after all, because now I can provide you with the official pyramid. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it on the WWW, so I cannot correct the Parfumo data.

Top note: Aldehydes, bergamot, peach, spice oils, green accords

Heart note: Jasmine, clove, ylang-ylang, rose, lily of the valley

Base: Patchouli, amber, vetiver, leather, sandalwood, moss, benzoin, incense.

For me, the base is one of the most beautiful I have encountered so far. It's a pity that today base notes are often treated so carelessly and seemingly unimportant. They often serve only as a conclusion, as a rounding off. However, they could, as in Vivara, certainly dominate their own chapter of a fragrance. Because of this base, I accept the non-existent, or for a moment even unpleasant because destroyed top note, and will still enjoy a drop from time to time.

A distinctly complex chypre with floral and green notes, smoke, and the signature leather note: striking, unisex, almost unique.
