Wearing Winter
I've been on the hunt for a fragrance with an "immortal ruler of a frozen kingdom" vibe: icy and clean, full of snowy trees and a hint of wildness. The search is over.

Open: icy cold green herbs and fir, edged with the sharp, clean, slightly sweet ozone. It's an incredibly promising start and I cross my fingers that it continues as the scent evolves.

30 minutes: the top notes are joined by a slightly salty oceanic note along with cold, earthy moss. Ambergris grounds the scent and adds to the coastal feel.

60 minutes: I'm in love. I keep pressing my nose to my wrist and breathing deeply. I am wearing winter.

Útilykt is completely unisex and sits fairly close to the skin, and sillage is light. Longevity is around 7-8 hours.

On a broader note, I am beyond impressed by Fischersund. This is the third fragrance I've tested from the house (all from the Langdegi [Light] discovery set), and all of them have been distinctly beautiful. The bottles and packaging are also lovely and special. If you enjoy unique fragrances that evoke a sense of memory and place, I highly recommend checking them out.

the underside of moss
This perfume is a collaboration with the outdoor brand 66° North, and it is meant to evoke the scent of the Icelandic outdoors.
I think it does.
I smell what I call 'the underside of moss', like when you pick up a piece of moss and the 'earth'-side of is smells like dirt but also like the green top. If you know 'Dirt' by Demeter, is has a slight resemblance to that.
Once I read there is (Icelandic) thyme in this, I smelled it, but I wouldn't have picked up on it on my own. After a while, the vetiver starts becoming more prominent, which is kind of a pity (for me, since I am not a great vetiver lover).

Longing
There it was again. That memory. Even though I still haven't found your scent, it flashes up whenever I perceive scents that resemble it. It happens again with Útilykt. You stand in front of me. You show me your broad grin. You take me in your strong arms and I sink into this wonderful, harsh green and cool scent, which is also warmed by amber and musk and which has stayed with me to this day. It has something of forests, lakes and soft moss, but at the same time brings a balsamic warmth with it. I think of smoking incense in the living room. With you. And a longing spreads.

You weren't a good guy back then. That probably hasn't changed to this day. And I, I'm already dedicating at least my third review to you and I've already written a blog article for you. Because I have your scent in my head. In my opinion, it is the most beautiful men's fragrance I have ever experienced. This combination of green notes, freshness, spice and a subtle sweet amber-balsamic and definitely a good dose of musk is unique to me, which is why I still seek it out today. Even after five years on Parfumo, I still haven't found this fragrance, but I still won't stop.

And in my search I end up with gems like Útilykt from the Icelandic house Fischersund. This fragrance comes very close to yours, although it is more synthetic and has nowhere near the depth that captivated me so much back then. It made me want to be close to you, even though I knew that you were only hurting me. That I was always completely indifferent to you. Nevertheless, I believe that perfumer Jón Þór Birgisson knew this scent and had it in mind when he created Útilykt. Perhaps he even wore it himself?

For me, this fragrance is therefore less about wild Icelandic nature and more about a journey into the past. With all its beautiful and also painful sides. I am convinced that this fragrance will manage to sneak into your heart and make you long for it, just as the one did for me back then. I wouldn't want to wear it myself, as it clearly has a masculine connotation for me. My husband is less of a lover of green fragrances now, so I think this fragrance will be used every now and then on a sniffing cloth and turn me back into a teenager with longings. Whenever I feel like it.

Many thanks to Floyd for the testing opportunity

Rüm Hart, klaar Kiming
Sometimes a fragrance is a feeling. Perfumers try to create such feelings artificially, and marketers then try to sell them (expensively). In most cases, the more determined the attempt seems to be, the less successful it is. There is no simple formula for determining when a perfume actually becomes an emotion and when it does not. It's not just the fragrance, but also the person perceiving it. On the head and heart, and by that I don't mean the notes. And whether this feeling should be given to you at that moment.

Fischersund's Útilykt is bergamot, ozone and grass in the top note, it says, followed by seaweed and Siberian fir - and finally (oak) moss, ambergris and vetiver. So much for the olfactory theory. But Útilykt is much more and is actually an indigo blue stormy sky over open, vast land. Vegetation too sparse and pale to be called that, little more than creeping lichen on black stone. A scent that tells of being alone without loneliness, of a call of the gray sea in the wind that has no voice and yet a song.

Conclusion: 'Rüm Hart, klaar Kiming' is Frisian for 'open heart and wide view', if a literal translation makes sense here. Because 'Rüm Hart, klaar Kiming' is much more than just a motto or motto. rüm Hart, klaar Kiming' is - like Útilykt - a feeling.

Surrounded by the outdoors
2.
Gusts up to 75, the ferry is not moving, the wind is pushing the water away. The birch whips very widely. Felt 11 degrees on 24.6.
Unobtrusive, and I grow pointed ears. It can smell like this in the north of Rügen.
Authentic natural fragrance in the sense of being outdoors
And leaning back
Being surrounded by the outdoors
Calming is in it and a bit of excitement is still hidden in this nasal sizzle

Nothing about it seems intentional, a handful of air stuffed into a bottle, and teleported.
Droplets of spray, mountains of algae, has anyone ever smelled the skin of a porpoise? Does vastness have a scent?
With your back to the wooded steep bank, what does the dark blue-grey of the swallow smell like?

Wisps of cold mountainous air, and brisk coniferous vegetation. Evokes the serenity of nature, as opposed to force. Pleasant- not incredible
