Sigh! I'm still looking for a forest scent that resonates with me. The candidates so far have mostly been too cold, musty, or smoky. Though the last one bothers you less than it does me ;-)

This sample has been on my mind for years, even though I can't say I particularly like the scent: There's something vaguely musty at first, from which an earthy geosmin smell emerges, and I'm curious about what the listed woods really are because something is scratching and stinging me. I can't identify tea, but with a bit of imagination, I get a hint of smoke. I perceive the scent as brownish-gray and mushy cold. Not one of the cheerful kinds, but one that lingers - November Vanitas. In that sense: Carpe Diem!
