November in the Temperate Deciduous Forest For Strange Women 2011 Perfume Oil

November forest in a bottle. Rainy, gloomy, earthy. The tea note is very strong, and combined with petrichor it smells as if it were raining black tea out of the sky. On my skin, the smoked lapsang souchong note together with the green leaves note almost smells like earl grey, very unexpectedly so, but it just makes me like the scent more. One of most atmospheric scents I tried.

Not petrichor or brewed tea to my nose, but a tin of smoky tea and dry fall leaves on a bed of baked earth. Very mid-September to me. I was disappointed at first because I really wanted it to be brewed tea and damp leaves on soaked earth. Once I let go of that expectation though it really grew on me. Dries down to physician’s formula makeup compact after an hour or two.

You're about to leave the house. It's very early - everything outside it's still, grey, cold. You have your breakfast - and trust me, this one it's a marvelous tea. As I said before, I'm not a fan of tea notes, but this lapsang smells like real tea. The rain accord is so vivid. It's your last moment of rest before going outside, in the cold, and have a long day. This scent captures beautifully a moment of peace consumed in silence, it's intimate - but not like intimity between two persons, two lovers or something. Personal intimacy. A moment for yourself. I'm in love.

I was given this because a friend of mine purchased it and she was disappointed that it didn't really suit the description.

It's not that it doesn't, per se,
But this scent is a smoked, dried earl grey tea that's in the tin. I'm sure it's a combo of the leaves note and resins (galbanum?) that create a bergamot like scent here, and it floats above the Lapsang note. It's honestly the earl grey scent of my dreams.

You've stuck your nose into the tin of earl grey tea that happens to be in a cabin deep in the woods. It's early spring and plants are starting to come back to life.

I own and love Foret Dormante by LVNEA and that is far more "wet green damp mossy forest floor" than this. If you're looking for something so green it's almost dank (and also very galbanum-heavy), I highly recommend. If you're looking for early morning sun coming through the just-awakening forest in early spring while you smell earl grey out of the tin, then this is for you.

Longevitu is short-lived, but it's an oil so I don't expect a long wear time. Projection is moderate for an hour or so and then it dries down to a dark powdered tea scent.

more fresh on the opening than i anticipated- crisp forest air in the morning dew, fog still among the pine. petrichor, pine, and earth. as it develops, settles into decay in a similar fashion to leaves themselves. the soil notes and decayed leaves become more prominent, and the scent becomes more dryer as though stepping on and crunching dried leaves. dries into something earthy, woody, and green. however, this process happens relatively quickly, and the oil base has the scent start enormously strong but quickly become intimate. faint, though that could be personal habituation, but it was disappointing to fade so fast.
