In the spark, I stand in flames, and have burned in water
So far, I associate very beautiful memories and moments with the house of Dior. Miss Dior Cherie was the first fragrance from the label that fascinated me for a long time and accompanied me for some time. An exciting and turbulent time. It was summer and I was 16... that says enough.
I do not know the original Addict yet, but I already have the utmost respect for it. According to numerous reviews, this must be an incredible fragrance. I am even more pleased that this EdT has been launched. The notes sound promising, the design immediately catches the eye, and the campaign is very appealingly designed. Just the name alone screams for an interesting fragrance experience. Can this scent captivate me so much that it won’t leave my mind, tempts me to sniff constantly, and triggers an incredibly wicked want-and-need impulse?
I am happy to engage with this, curious as I am, and I look forward to testing it.

With Dior Addict, the aim was to compose a direct and multifaceted fragrance. Fresh, feminine, and uncompromising, paired with an unexpected woody charm that is said to emanate from a precious sandalwood essence.
According to Demachy, the fragrance is round without being lush and enchants without being obvious. It should be immediately recognizable. The essence of sandalwood appears round and gives a milky-woody character that feels warm and almost organic. This note is said to be addictive and evoke our animalistic side.

The opening is gentle, warm, and sunny. Fresh, energetic, and euphoric. Deliciously restrained fruity without being sweet or sticky. Airy and free, even here an elegant nobility cannot be denied, a skillful feminine refinement. This impression is enhanced by the soft glow of a sensual vanilla note. Far from being trivial or cookie-like, it has bite without being overloaded or too ladylike. Actually, it’s a very flowing, warm, soft, and caressing concept.
At first, the scent reminded me strongly of Manifesto l'elixir. This is not surprising, as the notes are similar. But the more I tested the fragrance, the more I noticed this beautiful and fresh clean neroli note. Subtly "orangey" and radiant, minimally soapy, beautifully bright and refreshing.
Accompanied by powdery jasmine that strolls hand in hand with the incredibly beautiful vanilla. This is already a disguised gourmand, but of the elegantly fine and subtle kind. Similar to a golden soufflé. Just the sight is a true endorphin shower, the delicate, melting scent. A promising promise of perfect enjoyment that one would like to remember for a long time. After each bite, slowly lean back with closed eyes, purring contentedly, tilting your head back, and gesturing foolishly with your hands... ah, yes, I am already an incorrigible addict and no, I promise no improvement.
Already in the heart, a perfect landing that weakens me and mercilessly hits my nerves. The perfect symbiosis of freshness, passion, enjoyment, femininity, and romance. A skillful balancing act between invigorating and enchanting, thus ideal for day and night. Strong and beautiful, captivating and empathetic, it provides warmth and stability through its elegance and timelessness.

In the drydown, the sensual and warm sandalwood accord increasingly dominates. Milky and smooth, yet I would describe the fragrance as not particularly woody, rather soft and transparent. Behind it, a creamy orange note occasionally shimmers through, but only subtly fruity and not a killer fruit basket. I do like it very floral, and the jasmine really integrates very advantageously into the fragrance profile, enhancing the creamy-feminine character with an opulent but not intrusive, velvety-powdery, and floral note.

Dior Addict is not a capricious shapeshifter. It does not offer a spectacular progression, but rather a radiant and proud, very feminine presence. Classic and elegant without being outdated, fresh and sensual, somewhat mysterious and incredibly captivating. The fragrance is contagious with its charming cheerfulness, the warm vanilla and the extraordinary smooth sandalwood invite you to let your thoughts drift. A beautiful all-rounder, flirty enough for the evening and dynamic for the day. Even in high temperatures, it seems not to wilt, and in the currently rather modest weather, the fragrance uplifts and provides good mood. Not a girly-girl, it can also be worn with elegant attire. The sillage is quite decent and only slowly fades. The longevity on me is very good, I can clearly perceive it for at least eight hours, after which the fragrance becomes more intimate.

Just because of the bottle, the fragrance must move in with me very soon. The interior offers everything I want and impresses me sustainably. One of those fragrances that reveals more of itself with every wear, I like that.

Why the title? This line comes from Rammstein's "Feuer und Wasser," a painfully beautiful song. It states that fire and water do not come together, cannot be bound, are not related. However, when I enjoy this fragrance, I find that both elements have been masterfully combined here. That exciting passion, paired with radiant freshness and lightness.

A spark has definitely jumped over, and I hope that this fire burns long and bright.

first come, first served...
...grinds first.

Today, while stepping on the pavement in the sultriness, I made a quick stop at the perfumery.
Oh, 50% off!
In between, a bottle of Addict EDT.
I also have the EDP and expected a sweet-heavy scent in that direction.
But the crystal-clear bottle spoke a different language - as did the fragrance.

Refreshing, the mandarin greets me, complemented by cool neroli.
It fits perfectly in the summer.
But not only.
Jasmine - Sambac also adds a deeper elegant note, and the warm sweet vanilla makes the EDT a pleasant year-round fragrance.

I take the last box for myself as a lady also reaches for the tester and sniffs it appreciatively.
But I won't part with my "treasure" - first come, first served - my mom says that too.
Nonetheless, I carry the bottle to the checkout with a slight twinge of conscience.
But the lady stands behind me, smiling contentedly, with the beautiful Boss Nuit in her hands.
A fragrance that I also have and that I wholeheartedly wish for her.

We left the store in harmony together.

Cheerful Rain
There are days in the year, in summer, when it is unbearably hot, on which one has only one wish: a few hours of fresh country rain, dust "washed" from the air, and pleasant cooling. We are not quite there yet this year, but I have tested "Dior Addict" Eau de Toilette, and this comparison immediately came to mind. When I smell this fragrance now, it HAS already rained, and nature breathes a sigh of relief, gifting us with good aromas. Flowering shrubs each have their own scent, and the mixture of the various odors sometimes creates an "Addict"-like impression. Fresh wood, spicy and balsamic, gives the floral scents a touch of bitterness and "moist freshness" radiance. And the mood can also be lifted by the rain and the fragrant "afterwards." Perhaps it will soon be time again for the "weather god" to grant us such a cheerful refreshment. And, although I am not directly a fan of "Dior Addict," I find the Eau de Toilette pleasant as described. It is not urgently a "must-have" candidate, but if I ever get a sample (like the current test sample), I won't say no. Longevity is in a good range, and the sillage is not overpowering. A fragrance for good moods.

The Lady Among the Vamps
Yes, it is really beautiful! Normally, I prefer heavier, more opulent, punchy vanilla scents. Nothing too floral or fresh. But I can get along with this one. Despite the fact that it has nothing to do with the EdP Addict, there is a certain resemblance that cannot be overlooked. If the Eau de Parfum is the vamp, then the Eau de Toilette is definitely the lady. The EdT is mandarin, floral, vanilla, fresh, very pleasant to my nose, and somehow seductive. It does not use the sledgehammer approach; it is very elegant, understated, and subtly fresh. I can easily imagine it on a more mature, yet youthful lady with a modern style of dress. It would probably be perfect for my mother!
It is well-suited for work, as long as you don't overdo it with the sprays, but I can also imagine it for more elegant occasions if you’re not into heavy scents.
Really very successful! I will definitely recommend it, even if I won’t wear it myself.

Very helpful Review 14
Oh no......another new one from Dior!
This time a new Dior Addict, as if that wasn't enough....
What should I say after testing this fragrance extensively for three days, thanks to a dear Parfumo friend?
I've fallen in love again. After Granada by Memo, this is the second hit in a short time. Yes, it can happen. It's simply a dream scent. Love at first sniff!
Fans of the original Addict, EdP, might be disappointed because the Eau de Toilette is a standalone fragrance that is lighter and more wearable. You can recognize the family resemblance, but that's about it. However, many of you will surely like it as much as I do, as it is a more everyday-friendly version.
Dior Addict (Eau de Toilette) is certainly not a shadow or a copy of the big brother.

But now to the scent itself.
Juicy mandarins open up, they are ripe, but also fresh mandarins. Really very nice! Then it becomes more floral over time, but always fine and beautifully harmonized. Nothing too sweet or artificial bothers me. And the base is very well done. The vanilla blends with the wood into a wonderful component that I have to keep sniffing.
My husband already asked if I have a cold. But unfortunately, he is a fragrance philistine, what can I do?!
All in all, a really coherent, very well-made fragrance that comes across as airy and light, but also sensual, warm, and creamy-melting. Sure, it is also pleasing, but is that really a bad thing?

"Dior Addict Eau de Toilette is a fragrance that is immediately recognizable. It is rounded without being lavish, and it enchants without being too obvious." Francois Demachy (Perfume Creator of Dior)

I can confirm every word!
Nevertheless, Addict is not boring, not at all, I promise!
On me, it lasts very well on the skin, at least 5-6 hours, but it doesn't have a massive sillage.
I tell you, you absolutely have to test it to form your own opinion.
In my eyes, it bears no resemblance to Chance Eau Tendre (which I also like) and not to Daisy either. Daisy is much sweeter and more delicate, Addict has more character and is much woodier in the base! By the way, Daisy is already gone from me after an hour, poof!
I find Dior Addict much more mature and quite suitable for ladies who are not quite so young anymore. I always say, wear what you like! I won't let anyone dictate that to me.

Actually, I wanted to write a comment only when I have the new Addict in my collection, but I couldn't help it and had to express my enthusiasm!
Besides, I still have to wait until it's available in my perfumery or online.
But I'm happy to wait......In the meantime, I'm still sniffing the pitiful remains of my sample!

It smells delicious! The top note, unfortunately, disappears quickly. After that, it's only detectable up close. Great for re-spray addicts.

Diors Chance: white floral woody sparkling, dry laundry, silky hair, elegant, well-groomed, but not too ladylike. It has something!

The scent is completely underrated.
So beautiful and pleasant. Has nothing to do with EDP.
For me, it's a forever go-to and will never be bothersome.

A fresh fruity-floral breeze wafts from the bottle; on the skin, it’s an elegant and light scent that’s addictive. I love it even in winter.

More transparent than the EDP - without losing the addict character. Great for warmer temperatures, as the neroli refreshes nicely.

My personal wedding scent. A purity in its finest form. EdT is better than EdP.

Love at second sniff. Delicately long-lasting citrusy, vanilla. Good staying power.. Sometimes the nose needs time and the taste matures.

Is this Addict? Not even close to the EdP
completely boring & insignificant
a bit of mandarin & jasmine
then soft vanilla woods
