After BoraBora already gave me toilet perfume vibes, I lowered my expectations for Amalfolia a bit - that way they can be more easily exceeded. At least that was the plan. The fragrance notes fit quite well with the Amalfi Coast: fruity, fresh, a bit floral. Immediate thoughts of Italy, sea, beach, vacation. Ah!
Almafolia has absolutely nothing to do with the aforementioned associations. It is a sticky, overwhelming scent. Not in a good way. If I hadn't seen the pretty, modern packaging, I would have thought I accidentally grabbed a 20-year-old sample from my grandma that was once included in a Brigitte magazine. Sultry describes it quite well. Just too much. Too much flower, too stuffy, absolutely no lightness.
Tuberose and Ylang-Ylang have let the musk and vanilla run wild in the Mediterranean.
