Tuberose in all of its splendid glory
If you were wondering what tuberose smells like, you have it all in here. It's the star of this fragrance, the one and only. The other notes? They're nothing but shy ghosts, fleeting scents that only support the queen.
At the top, tuberose is playful, sweet and powdery. Peaches add a sweet fruitiness and when combined, it gave me peach flavored powdery candy or something (like a peach flavored Rocket candy). In the middle, tuberose becomes more powdery and bubblegum-like with the coconut in the background and the ylang-ylang adding a tropical twist. There's a subtle note of woodiness that's also coming through. During its life on my skin, it starts having a weird powdery, vintage vibe on my skin: a scent I picture a grandma wearing, not what a young woman would wear (but that might be just me). (EDIT: I've been wondering what that scent was and when I smelled my hand (we were pretty late in the afternoon), I realized that Almafolia had evolved into something that smelled like Fall Cashmere ?! There's absolutely no cinnamon here, but it now smelled spicy, warm, creamy and vanilla sweet. This is just mind-boggling.) After that though, drydown went back powdery and a little bit more animalic with some warmth from the amber, some resinous aspect with the benzoin and some sweetness from the vanilla.
All in all, it's a fine scent if you're a fan of tuberose. As for me, it's not my favorite flower and the powderiness / animalic aspect I get from it is a turn off. Another thing that surprised me is the fact it's marketed as a unisex fragrance. I'd see a girl wearing this, but not a man. If you like tuberose, you might like this one, but it wasn't for me unfortunately.
